Failsafe Plan
Let me get this straight.
We're going to pass a health care plan written by a committee whose head says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it but exempts themselves from it, signed by a president that also hasn't read it and who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's nearly broke.
What could possibly go wrong?

You must like paying totally-for-profit high insurance premiums. I don't.
And even with health care reform enacted, you will still have that option, dumb as it is.
Ironically, pandering to dweebs like the guy who wrote this e-mail and constantly whittling the plan down until it doesn't offend any insurers, drug companies, or Republicans who've vowed to vote against it at all costs is what could go wrong.
How do all these people know that literally nobody has read it?
It's true that Congress critters don't have time to read every line of every bill, but that's why they have interns (believe it or not, the interns aren't there just for the possible sexy time) and research assistants, etc. The bills ARE read and considered seriously.
But if you're paid off handsomely and being given your "marching orders" by big Insurance and Pharma. companies, then you LIE to lunatic fringe republicants and say that no one reads the bills. Quite simple, really, albeit not true.
To last anon post: while I mostly agree w/what you say, it IS entirely likely that most Republican Congress Reps have NOT read the bill. I am reading in several places that some are actually proudly crowing about how they haven't "bothered" to read this distardly bill that will so awfully inconvenience insurance companies!
so perhaps this idiotic RWF is true on some levels. I suspect, however, that Democrats are much better informed (not that they are perfect, and they also do get paid off by ins. companies - at least some of them) and have read large portions of the bills.
Surprised? Sadly: no.
Talk about stupid. First of all, there is no single health care plan. There are at least 5 different health care plans. These plans HAVE been read, I guarantee it. Maybe not by everyone in Congress, but by a lot of Members, and certainly by scores of interns, lobbiests, analysts and all sorts of others people who are employed specifically for that purpose.
As for Congress "exempting itself", get this through your heads wingnuts: CONGRESS ALREADY GETS GOVERNMENT RUN HEALTH CARE!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't whine and bitch about the great perks Congress gets and then turn around and rail against government run health care. Make up your damn minds.
As for the President smoking, Geitner's taxes, or the Surgeon general's weight, none of them matter. Bush proved that. I always thought you needed a functioning frontal lobe to be President, but he proved me wrong. If he can overcome that shortcoming I'm sure these other faults are no big deal.
Gee whiz, the POTUS smokes? Well, that negates EVERYTHING! Thanks for letting me know. Simply & only bc the POTUS smokes, that means we cannot improve the health care system in the USA. Same goes for the allegedly obese Surgeon General.
However, while Tim Geithner did neglect to pay SOME taxes (which ain't great), it was only a very small portion, and those back taxes have been paid w/interest. That's a bald faced lie...
Nonsense "logic" to "back up" this ridiculous "defense" of doing nothing to improve health care in the USA brought to you by big Insurance USA (whose CEOs want to continue raking in your hard earned dollars. gadz, whyever would we want Big Ins CEOs to do without one of the many millions that they rip off of YOU every year??).

Good DailyKos diary on what shills are and how they operate. Many of these RWFs are written by shills (imho). Educate yourself to know what and who to believe.
This drivel seems written by a corporate sponsored shill.
