This reminds me of those features in magazines where they take a still shot of a celebrity couple and then get a "body language expert" to analyse how well the couple's relationship is going. If the couple happened to be photographed at a moment when they weren't gazing at one another in rapture, the "expert" will, of course, say that the relationship is obviously at an end and the two are clearly tired of one another.

Obviously, when they're not doing that, "body language experts" write forwards like this. Thus, one arrangement of people, out of millions that might have been photographed (because moving people do change position a lot) becomes the whole of the thing.

What kind of itellectually dishonest asshole would claim that Obama is oblivious. Of course he is aware what is going on behind him.

Further more, what the fuck do these assholes want him to do, fight Sgt. Crowley for the chance to help Gates down the stairs? He hardly needs two people for this.

If Obama did help Gates and left Sgt. Crowley as the odd man out, the right-wing narrative of this image would be "Oh, look at the angry black elitists... excluding the white guy, reverse racism, they think they are so much better!"

Also it makes sense for Obama to be ahead. Since Gates already has help, Obama as the third person can be available at the bottom of the stair to help with the final step. Since Obama will them be in the position of better stability.

Anyone who buys into this does so only because they want to be hateful.

It's also like that still shot taken from a video recently when Obama & Sarkozy appeared to be standing on stairs, and it looked like Obama was staring at some young woman's butt.

If you saw the whole video, actually all Obama was doing was looking down at the step (presumably to watch his footing on the stairs). Yet the so-called "librul" media lost not one nanosecond in sending out the false photo saying: Lookie, lookie, Obama's perving some young chick... (not).

Feh: nonsense.

The reichwing's hatred, bigotry and nastiness has grown exponentially. It's really disgusting and kind of scary.

They will latch onto anything and twist it to make it seem like something it's not (and yet send out photos like the one in the forward, below, and act all innocent and who me? I'm not a racist).

I'm firmly convinced that there is absolutely NOTHING that Obama or the Democratic admin can do that will be "correct" for these people. They simply don't want to agree w/anything to do w/Obama & the present admin, EVEN IF it is something that they would benefit from personally or agree with if W proposed it.

It's sad, it's sickening, and it's not good for our country.

Please everyone: go to any Health Care Town Halls near you. Doesn't matter if you agree w/ the proposed bill or not. Just try to put forward a mature, respectful way to interact with others in your community. I really feel that we all need to participate to counteract this horrible, thuggish hooligan & very unncessary behavior.

A scorpion and a frog meet on the bank of a stream and the scorpion asks the frog to carry him across on its back. The frog asks, "How do I know you won't sting me?" The scorpion says, "Because if I do, I will die too."

The frog is satisfied, and they set out, but in midstream, the scorpion stings the frog. The frog feels the onset of paralysis and starts to sink, knowing they both will drown, but has just enough time to gasp "Why?"

Replies the scorpion: "Because its my nature..."

The Republicans may look human, but they're all scorpions, every last one of them.

You know how these bullies who shriek at "teabaggings" and now at town halls tend to carry signs saying "I want my country back." And it's always some nasty bigot who really has nothing to complain about except that their side LOST?

Well, I'm really starting to feel the same way: I want MY country back. It's a country that truly used to exist back in the day, where all political parties could exist in the same country and find ways to be respectful and get along.

Sadly, those days seem long gone. Yes, all Republicans do seem to be scorpions these days.

So, um, when Crowley was the one in power he was nothing but gracious in how he cuffed Gates? Does the author of that blurb realize how insulting it is to Crowley, pointing out that he was only gracious when he became the least powerful person in the room?

This is a silly point being made from a neutral photo. Of course the host leads the way, secure in the knowledge that both his guests are in good hands. All three men look gracious and composed for the cameras they know are there.

Given the most recent RW plan to provide health care for seniors it makes a certain amount of sense to herald Crowley's kindness. After all, he tried to put that poor elderly gentleman in prison, where all of his health care needs would be met. I bet Gates is silently cursing the evil liberals and their insistence on "rule of law" and "civil rights" that took away his three square meals a day and government-provided health care.

Plus, I am sure Obama was oblivious to the (possibly) staged photo op to the demonstrate the reconciliation that the whole meeting was meant to achieve. I bet he forgot the two of them were showing up that day and had to run around picking up dirty socks and making beds while Crowley and Gates waited by the door. Then, he met them, they talked, and he just plum forgot they were there again.
