Fwd: Fw: Every Democrat vice presidential nominee

Every Democrat vice presidential nominee since 1976, except for Lloyd Bentsen, went to law school.

Barack Obama was a lawyer. Michelle Obama was a lawyer
Hillary Clinton was a lawyer. Bill Clinton was a lawyer.
John Edwards is a lawyer. Elizabeth Edwards was a lawyer.
Look at leaders of the Democrat Party in Congress:
Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer is a lawyer.
Ex-Senator Harry Reid is a lawyer.

The Republican Party is different.

President Trump is a businessman.
President Bush 1 and 2 were businessmen.
Vice President Cheney is a businessman.
President Eisenhower was a 5 star General Officer.
The leaders of the Republican Revolution:
Newt Gingrich was a history professor.
Tom Delay was an exterminator.
Dick Armey was an economist.
Ex-House Minority Leader Boehner was a plastic manufacturer.
The former Senate Majority Leader Bill First is a heart surgeon

Who was the last Republican president who was a lawyer?

Gerald Ford, who left office 31 years ago and who barely won the Republican nomination as a sitting president, running against actor Ronald Reagan in 1976. The Republican Party is made up of real people doing real work, who are often the targets of lawyers.

This is very interesting. I never thought about it this way.

The Democrat Party is made up of lawyers. Democrats mock and scorn men who create wealth, like Trump, Bush and Cheney, or who heal the sick like First, or who immerse themselves in history like Gingrich. The Lawyers Party sees these sorts of people, who provide goods and services that people want, as the enemies of America.

And, so we have seen the procession of official enemies, in the eyes of the Lawyers Party, grow.

Against whom do Hillary and Obama rail?....Pharmaceutical companies, oil companies, hospitals, manufacturers, fast food restaurant chains, large retail businesses, bankers, and anyone producing anything of value in our nation.

This is the natural consequence of viewing everything through the eyes of lawyer.  Lawyers solve problems by successfully representing their clients, in this case the American people. Lawyers seek to have new laws passed, they seek to win lawsuits, they press appellate courts to overturn precedent, and lawyers always parse language to favor their side. Confined to the narrow practice of law, that is fine. But it is an awful way to govern a great nation.

When politicians, as lawyers, begin to view some Americans as clients and other Americans as opposing parties, then the role of the legal system in our life becomes all-consuming. Some Americans become adverse parties of our very government. We are not all litigants in some vast social class-action suit.

We are citizens of a republic that promises us a great deal of freedom from laws, from courts, and from lawyers. Today, we are drowning in laws; we are contorted by judicial decisions; we are driven to distraction by omnipresent lawyers in all parts of our once private lives.

America has a place for laws and lawyers, but that place is modest and reasonable, not vast and unchecked. When the most important decision for our next president is whom he will appoint to the Supreme Court, the role of lawyers and the law in America is too big. When House Democrats sue America in order to hamstring our efforts to learn what our enemies are planning to do to us, then the role of litigation in America has become crushing.

Perhaps Americans will understand that change cannot be brought to our nation by those lawyers who already largely dictate American society and business. Perhaps Americans will see that hope does not come from the mouths of lawyers but from personal dreams nourished by hard work. Perhaps Americans will embrace the truth that more lawyers with more power will only make our problems worse.

The United States has 5% of the world's population and 66% of the world's lawyers! Tort (Legal) reform legislation has been introduced in congress several times in the last several years to limit punitive damages in ridiculous lawsuits such as spilling hot coffee on yourself and suing the establishment that sold it to you and also to limit punitive damages in huge medical malpractice lawsuits. This legislation has continually been blocked from even being voted on by the Democrat Party.

When you see that 97% of the political contributions from the American Trial Lawyers Association go to the Democrat Party, then you realize who is responsible for our medical and product costs being so high.

Note: Aaron Burr was a lawyer who, after being sanctioned for illegal dueling, with its ignominious outcome, tried to form his own country out west.

FW: Oops!

White House staffer SHOOTS BOYFRIEND AFTER SEX

White House/Congress coordinator

Singletary reportedly confronted her boyfriend, a Capitol Hill police officer, about another woman he was seeing before grabbing his two cellphones and his .40 caliber Glock 23 service weapon

A special assistant to the president — the president who recently lamented that an inability to pass gun control was one of the great failures of his administration — was arrested Friday after she allegedly fired a pistol at her boyfriend during a domestic dispute. Barvetta Singletary, 37, didn't help advance her boss' crusade against gun violence when she invited her boyfriend, a Capitol Hill police officer, over to her house for sex. Afterwards, she accused him of seeing another woman and demanded to see the texts on his cellphones. When he refused, Singletary reached into her boyfriend's bag, according to the arresting documents, and pulled out the two cellphones and his service weapon, a .40 caliber Glock 23. She demanded he tell her the passwords to the phones. He refused. "Your phone is more important than me holding the gun on you," she said, shooting the couch where he was sitting. Singletary is the Obama administration's House legislative affairs liaison and was paid $125,000 a year. Let's just say she wasn't a low-level staffer.
Her purposeful gun crime while working for this gun-hostile administration is more important than the time Dick Cheney accidentally shot a friend while Dove hunting. But which one received more news coverage?

Fwd: Fw: BUSH'S RESIGNATION SPEECH

Thank you Andy for sending this, a resignation speech by George W. Bush. Let me just write that again.. ahem... A RESIGNATION speech from George W. Bush. Ahh. Is that as fun to read as it is to type? This email is a variation of an older entry, only with a nice intro and illustrative pictures of our chief executive. I must say, his speeches are much more impressive without actually hearing the delivery.

---begin forward---

The following "speech" was written recently by an ordinary resident of the People's Republic of Maine. While satirical in nature, all satire must have a basis in fact to be effective. This is by a person who does not write for a living.
The speech George W. Bush might give:

Normally, I start these things out by saying "My Fellow Americans."

Not doing it this time. If the polls are any indication, I don't know who

more than half of you are anymore. I do know something terrible has

happened, and that you're really not fellow Americans any longer.

I'll cut right to the chase here: I quit. Now before anyone gets all in a

lather about me quitting to avoid impeachment, or to avoid prosecution

or something, let me assure you: There's been no breaking of laws or

impeachable offenses in this office.

The reason I'm quitting is simple. I'm fed up with you people.

I'm fed up because you have no understanding of what's really

going on in the world. Or of what's going on in this once-great

nation of ours. And the majority of you are too blasted lazy to

do your homework and figure it out.

Let's start local. You've been sold a bill of goods by politicians

and the news media. Polls show that the majority of you think

the economy is in the tank. And that's despite record numbers

of homeowners, including record numbers of MINORITY

homeowners. And while we're mentioning minorities, I'll point

out that minority business ownership is at an all-time high. Our

unemployment rate is as low as it ever was during the Clinton

administration. I've mentioned all those things before, but it

doesn't seem to have sunk in.

Despite the shock to our economy of 9/11, the stock market

has rebounded to record levels and more Americans than ever

are participating in these markets. Meanwhile, all you can do

is whine about gas prices, and most of you are too darn stupid

to realize that gas prices are high because there's increased

demand in other parts of the world, and because a small handful

of noisy idiots are more worried about polar bears and beachfront

property than your economic security.

We face real threats in the world. Don't give me this "blood for

oil" thing. If I were trading blood for oil I would've already

seized Iraq's oil fields and let the rest of the country go to hell.

And don't give me this 'Bush Lied; People Died' mess either.

If I were the liar you morons take me for, I could've easily had

chemical weapons planted in Iraq so they could be 'discovered.'

Instead, I owned up to the fact that the intelligence was faulty.

Let me remind you that the rest of the world thought Saddam

had the goods, same as me. Let me also remind you that regime

change in Iraq was official US policy before I came into office.

Some guy named 'Clinton' established that policy. Bet you didn't

know that, did you? Now you morons are considering another and

more evil Clinton for president !!!! Go figure that one!! She wants

to take your kids away and let the "Whole Village" raise them!

i.e. governmental indoctrination..... Look this one up you dummies!

You idiots need to understand that we face a unique enemy.

Back during the cold war, there were two major competing

political and economic models squaring off. We won that war,

but we did so because fundamentally, the Communists wanted

to survive, just as we do. We were simply able to out spend

and out-tech them.

That's not the case this time. The soldiers of our new

enemy don't care if they survive. In fact, they want to die.

That'd be fine, as long as they weren't also committed to

taking as many of you with them as they can. But they are.

They want to kill you, and the rascals are all over the globe.

You should be grateful that they haven't gotten any more of us

here in the United States since September 11. But you're not.

That's because you've got no idea how hard a small number of

intelligence, military, law enforcement, and homeland security

people have worked to make sure of that. When this whole mess

started, I warned you that this would be a long and difficult fight.

I'm disappointed how many of you people think a long and difficult

fight amounts to a single season of 'Survivor.'

Instead, you've grown impatient. You're incapable of seeing

things through the long lens of history, the way our enemies do.

You think that wars should last a few months, a few years, tops.

Making matters worse, you actively support those who help

the enemy. Every time you buy the New York Times, every

time you send a donation to a cut-and-run Democrat's political

campaign, well, dang it, you might just as well FedEx a grenade

launcher to a Jihadist. It amounts to the same thing.

In this day and age, it's easy enough to find the truth. It's

all over the Internet. It just isn't on the pages of the New

York Times USA Today or on NBC News. But even if it

were, I doubt you'd be any smarter. Most of you would

rather watch American Idol.

I could say more about your expectations that the government

will always be there to bail you out, even if you're too stupid to

leave a city that's below sea level and has a hurricane approaching.

I could say more about your insane belief that government,

not your own wallet, is where the money comes from. But I've

come to the conclusion that were I to do so, it would sail right over

your heads.

So I quit. I'm going back to Crawford. I've got an energy-efficient

house down there (Al Gore could only dream) and the capability to

be fully self-sufficient for years. No one ever heard of Crawford

before I got elected, and as soon as I'm done here pretty much

no one will ever hear of it again. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to

die of old age before the last pillars of America fall.

Oh, and by the way, Cheney's quitting too. That means Pelosi

is your new President. You asked for it. Watch what she does

carefully, because I still have a glimmer of hope that there are

just enough of you remaining who are smart enough to turn this

thing around in 2008.

So that's it. God bless what's left of America.

Some of you know what I mean.

The rest of you, kiss off.

A Liberal Goes Undercover to Brave America's Premiere Right-Wing Gathering

Here's an article about a liberal blogger sneaking in to a CPAC rally, posing as a lobbyist for the American Milk Solids Council.

The convention will be attended, largely, by two groups of people: the mainline Republican rump of 19-percenters, who think George W. Bush is doing a Brownian heck of a job, and the radical right, who think that the problem with George is that he's not heartlessly conservative enough. To put it another way, here we have the people who look at the wreckage of the American 2000s and pronounce it a wonderful thing and the people who look at it and say, "Yeah, it's pretty awful, but if we tried, we could make it a whole lot worse."

FW: G. W. Bush's Resignation Speech

[Thanks Ted and his sis. "My sister and I are avid fans of your blog. I've held off sending MY typical in-box share of bizarre rightwing forwards, but this one seemed special."
That it is, I will think twice about picking up a copy of The Times. Send more!]

We all have our disagreements with President Bush. Immigration, U.S. Attorney firings, Iraq, Darfur, etc., are all hot topics these days.
