This is a bad thing? This is "pandering"? Acknowledging that LGBT citizens exist and have had a long struggle for acceptance in our society?

Well given MO Rep (and Senate candidate) Todd Akin's recent remarks about so-called "legitimate rape" and resulting (or not) pregnancies, my answer to your question is: Yes.
The best part is the comments section, where conservatives are gnashing their teeth because Obama doesn't honor the fallen at D-Day.
Except, of course, he did.
There is not a single lie conservatives would question, as long as it came from their beloved sources.
