PSALM 2010

Obama is the shepherd I did not want.
He leadeth me beside the still factories.
He restoreth my faith in the Republican party.
He guideth me in the path of unemployment for his party's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the bread line,
I shall fear no hunger, for his bailouts are with me.
He has anointed my income with taxes,
My expenses runneth over.
Surely, poverty and hard living will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will live in a mortgaged home forever.
I am glad I am American,
I am glad that I am free.
But I wish I was a dog ...
And Obama was a tree.

Isn't this some kind of heresy or something? If left-wingers made a rude poem out of a psalm, people would complain.

The smarter reactionaries know this is all bullshit
...they're just falling all over themselves to get to
the facile little rhyme at the end.

William F. Buckley must be spinning in his grave.

Where was this dumb poem during the eight years of W? I think some Tea Partiers have *some* justified complaints, some of which fall within this drivel. But where the eff were they during the train wrecking of our nation's economy during the eight years of Bush? From this crowd: crickets.

That's why I find it hard to listen to their whining victimization now. If they were consistent in their criticism of "big bad gov't ripping us all off," I would have more time for them. As it is: can't count on 'em. Once a rightwinger's in office, they all go back to sleep and be just fine with whatever b.s. happens, as long as their fed bread & circuses about evolution, etc.

Childishly dumb.

Appeals to the lowest common denominator amongst the citizenry. When was the last time I heard the dog 'n tree joke and thought it was really funny?? Probably in 5th grade, if that.

Where was this poem during the past eight years?

Right here:

"Bush is my shepherd, I shall be in want. He leadeth me beside the still factories, He maketh me to lie down on park benches, He restoreth my doubts about the Republican party, He guideth me onto the paths of unemployment for the party's sake. I do fear the evildoers, for thou talkst about them constantly. Thy tax cuts for the rich and thy deficit spending They do discomfort me. Thou anointeth me with never-ending debt, And my savings and assets shall soon be gone. Surely poverty and hard living shall follow me, And my jobless children shall dwell in my basement forever."

No, I didn't write that - it was circulating years ago. This Obama psalm is just a re-written rip-off of a Bush psalm. (And the airplane joke above is also a rip-off.)

These people are never. ever. orginal. Not EVER.

There are idiots and extremists on both sides of the spectrum, but the utter inability to ever come up with a single original joke that is remotely clever is a particuarly right-wing phemomenom. Every clever-ish joke they ever come up with always turns out to be a re-worded left-wing joke.
