Another Myth ...

Some Of The History

We Share With Muslims

The Presidential Myth: "Muslims Have Always Been a Part of America's History"

It is pure horse manure that “Muslims have always been a part of America’s history” – their only ‘documented’ role in our early history was the bad fortune of having been the target of the U.S. Marines when President Jefferson sent a task force to Tripoli Libya in 1805 to route the Muslim pirates headquartered there and to free hostage Americans being held there.

President Obama said, in his Cairo speech: "I know, too, that Islam has always been a part of America's story.

Were those Muslims that were in America when the Pilgrims first landed? No. There is no evidence that any Native American Indians were Muslims.

Were there any Muslims that celebrated the first Thanksgiving Day? Nope - again, those were Pilgrims and Native American Indians.

Is there even one Muslim’s signature on the United States Constitution? Declaration of Independence? Bill of Rights?

Nope, no documentation supports the fact that there were any Muslims in America then.

Were there any Muslims fighting in the Continental Army for this country's freedom from England? Again, no.

How many Muslims were engaged during the fight during the Civil War to free the slaves in America? Nada, none, zero, zippo. As a matter of fact, as reported by the Human Rights watchdogs of the globe, Muslims, to this day, are still the largest traffickers in human slavery.

Where were the Muslims during the marching and demonstrating in the Civil Rights era of this country? None there, once again, absent. There are no pictures or media accounts of Muslims walking side by side with Martin Luther King Jr. or helping to advance the cause of Civil Rights – not even any of Malcolm X’s Black Muslims.

Where were the Muslims during this country's Woman's Suffrage movement?

Again, none present.

In fact, devout Muslims demand that women be subservient to men in the Islamic culture - so much so that often they are beaten for not wearing the 'hajib' or for talking to a man that is not a direct family member or their husband.

And does anyone remember the involvement of any Muslims on the side of the Allies during WWII?

Again, they weren’t there – those that were involved at all were aligned with Adolph Hitler. There are historical reports that the Muslim Grand Mufti himself (whoever the hell that was) met with Adolph Hitler, reviewed the troops and accepted support from the Nazi's in killing Jews.

And where exactly were our fine Muslim friends on Sept. 11th, 2001?

That is, if they weren't flying planes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon or into a field in Pennsylvania, killing more than 3,000 people on our own soil.

Where were they?

Well, if you believe the so-called liberal media reports, they were all busy rejoicing in ghettos in Detroit, San Francisco, and all over the Middle East. It is pretty hard to deny the pictures shown from all parts of the Muslim world showing them celebrating on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and other news networks that day.

Strangely, the so-called "moderate" Muslims like those in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Detroit and San Francisco,

were stone cold silent post 9-11.

To many Americans, their silence means approval for the acts of that day.

This is the "rich heritage" Muslims have here in America?

The President’s made-up history as told in Cairo is simply fiction.

And, here is another interesting fact: "Asalmu alaykum" is not an "Arabic greeting".

These were the words that President Obama uttered to begin his 'speech'.

"Asalmu alaykum" is a required greeting from one Muslim to another Muslim. Muslims and non-Muslims, of whatever ethnic group, do not normally exchange this greeting.

WHAT HAS AMERICA DONE?

What the right wing either forgets or doesn't
realize is that the American Muslim PAC endorsed
Bush in 2000, not Kerry. Look it up.

But after 2001, the teabaggers see ALL muslims
as terrorists.

How easy life must be when you reduce your
world view to simple manicheanism.

You know, most of that stuff at the beginning, you know the constitution and so on, could be said about women and blacks as well.

Anyone who really wants to find Muslims condemning terrorism can easily do so with a simple Google search. But so few people want to do so.
Good point, Marc. Blast those women and blacks for not signing the Declaration of Independence, buncha unpatriotic losers.

Following the point from Marc with a C:

I'm shocked, shocked that there were no Jews at the first Thanksgiving. This proves that they are all terrorists.

Also, the idea that there is a single "required greeting" used unfailingly and only among Muslims betrays a complete lack of understanding of the actual practice of Islam. It's sort of like saying that all Christians are required to say "Hail Mary!" whenever they meet because the Pope of Russia said they had to.

Whoops @ first post.

I meant Gore, not Kerry.

"In 1790, the South Carolina legislative body granted special legal status to a community of Moroccans, twelve years after the Sultan of Morocco became the first foreign head of state to formally recognize the United States. In 1796, then president John Adams signed a treaty declaring the United States had no "character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Mussulmen (Muslims)."

Readers may be surprised to learn that there may have been hundreds, perhaps thousands, of Muslims in the United States in 1776—imported as slaves from areas of Africa where Islam flourished. Although there is no evidence that the Founders were aware of the religious convictions of their bondsmen, it is clear that the Founding Fathers thought about the relationship of Islam to the new nation and were prepared to make a place for it in the republic.

In his seminal Letter on Toleration (1689), John Locke insisted that Muslims and all others who believed in God be tolerated in England. Campaigning for religious freedom in Virginia, Jefferson followed Locke, his idol, in demanding recognition of the religious rights of the "Mahamdan," the Jew and the "pagan." Supporting Jefferson was his old ally, Richard Henry Lee, who had made a motion in Congress on June 7, 1776, that the American colonies declare independence. "True freedom," Lee asserted, "embraces the Mahomitan and the Gentoo (Hindu) as well as the Christian religion."

Prior posts have covered a lot of good, solid and important points to debunk this doggeral.

To be brief and more trivial, the final statement that the greeting Assalam-O-Alaikum is ONLY exchanged between 2 practicing Muslims - and not between a Muslim & a non-Muslim - is, frankly, CRAP of the highest & stinkiest degree. Which of they LIE about that as to prove their ignorant LIE that BHO is a "secret muslin."

Spare me the poopy LIE, wingtards. I'm not a Muslim, but I have many Muslim friends, and we nearly always greet one another with Assalam-O-Alaikum. Plus I have lived in muslim-dominated parts of India, and many Hindus greeted Muslims that way and vice versa.

What a bunch of lying losers.

Wish they'd get over their OVERT RACISM and race-baiting over muslims, african americans, mexicans & all hispanics, women, and other minorities. So sick of the lying bullsick of the RepubliKKKan party.

Marc's got it. It's almost as if they'd been discriminated against or something.
