Passing a good one on.................

When we were in Texarkana last week, there were
signs in people's yards that said, " America ,
prayer our only hope" with 2 Chron. 7:14
underneath. We certainly need God's help!

I have no idea who started this, but I certainly
agree with this e-mail. I heard a preacher on TV
tonight that said if will pray for our nation that
things will turn around

After a day of contemplation and soul searching, I
have decided to reach out to my friends and
relatives and ask you to do something that has been
troubling me for a long time.

Our nation is/has been on the slippery slope for a
long time. If you look around you will find
corruption, greed, moral decay, and a steady move
away from the things that made us great. The
principles upon which this nation was founded are no
longer our backbone. However, we can reverse this

2 Chron. 7:14 In God's word he states,"If my people
who are called by my name will humble themselves and
pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked
ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive
their sin and heal their land."

I am convinced that we must pray for our nation and
its leaders and ask for forgiveness. So I ask you to
join me in this plea to our Lord.

Would you please send this to people in your address
book (send it to all of them); ask them to pray
EVERYDAY. (25 to the only the 5th power is 9,765,625
people.) IMAGINE if each person reaches TEN
others...or all TWENTY FIVE!

If you do and they comply, we will lift up millions
and millions of prayers a day to our Creator. He
will hear us and in faith will answer.

Let me just add a quote from Ronald Reagan "If we
ever forget that we are one nation under God, then
we will be a nation gone under." I truly believe
this is why the United States of America is in the
shape we are in today. Most people have forgotten
that we are one nation under God! Let us as
Christians stand up and remind people of this. ~
Have a blessed day!

Had to chortle at the suggestion to send this to "everyone in your address book" and the dissemination warning at the bottom.

This one can't be real. The misspellings in a Bible verse, the generic "I heard a preacher," the Reagan quote, the chain letter... this has to be a troll.

I wouldn't be so sure. This seems pretty tame by right-wing forward standards.

As for Reagan, well it's amazing how much the right loves to project religion onto him, seeing how he hardly ever attended church before, during, and after his presidency.

Reply to Anon post above: no, I think it's very real... and mainly for the reasons that you state whereby you think it makes it a "troll."

Sadly, a lot of the types who send this junk around say/do all of the above, esp the St. Ronnie of the Blessed Raygun quote.

Sadly, most of these RWF folks do NOT live by the motto at the bottom of this forward:

--"Live simply, love generously,
care deeply, speak kindly, and
leave the rest to God."

IF ONLY they ALL did JUST that, we would all be a lot better off. Unfortunately, they either don't read and/or comprehend what they put in some of these emails...

From my experience, the RWer version of this little saying goes,

"Live simply, love generously,
care deeply, speak kindly, and
leave the rest to God for a while on Sunday when around your own kind."

From about 10:45 Sunday morning (earlier if they go to Sunday School) until they get back in traffic after leaving the Ryan's Steakhouse all-you-can-eat-mostly-fried-all-fat buffet, which is usually about 2:30, yep, they's good, back-slappin', hallelujahing, hymn-singin', how-ya-doin'?, tithin', carin', lovin', Bible-quotin', good folks. Just ask 'em.

After maneuvering the Hummer into traffic with a Ryan's dessert-bar-sugar-rush and a cell phone in one hand and a Camel Unfiltered in the other, many of them become sum-bitches again.

I also know some damn fine RW Christian folks, people who have really emulated Christ and made a difference.

Where were these fools in 2004?

NOW they're concerned about corruption?

Hi Dave -

I think you summed it all up very nicely! WIN!

To Anon, above: those fools in 2004 were out in force voting for W!!!!

PS I realize your question was rhetorical, but I couldn't resist. They all LOVE the corruption of W, but hate that BHO is doing his best to run more honest government. But then again, we know what BHO's skin color is, etc, and so....
