Fwd: May God help us!

MUST HAVE BEEN FROM ACORN....

Ah, the automobile industry is now "In good hands." This is directed
particularly to you engineers.

Subject: Fw: Automotive Industry Challenge... David Cole

(From a senior level Chrysler person)

Monday morning I attended a breakfast
meeting where the speaker/guest was David E. Cole, Chairman, Center
for Automotive Research (CAR and Professor at the Univ. of Michigan.
You have all likely heard CAR quoted, or referred to in the auto
industry news lately.

Mr. Cole, who is an engineer by
training, told many stories of the difficulty of working with the
folks that the Obama administration has sent to save the auto
industry. There have been many meetings where a 30+ year experience
automotive expert has to listen to a newcomer to the industry, someone
with zero manufacturing experience, zero auto industry experience,
zero business experience, zero finance experience, and zero
engineering experience, tell them how to run their business.

Mr Cole's favorite story is as follows:

There was a team of Obama people
speaking to Mr. Cole (Engineer, automotive experience 40+ years,
Chairman of CAR). They were explaining to Mr. Cole that the auto
companies needed to make a car that was electric and liquid natural
gas (LNG) with enough combined fuel to go 500 miles so we wouldn't
"need" so many gas stations (A whole other topic). They were quoting
BTU's of LNG and battery life that they had looked up on some website.

Mr. Cole explained that to do this you
would need a trunk FULL of batteries and a LNG tank at big as a car to
make that happen and that there were problems related to the laws of
physics that prevented them from...

The Obama person interrupted and said
(and I am quoting here) "These laws of physics? Who's rules are those,
we need to change that. (Some of the others wrote down the law name so
they could look it up) We have the congress and the administration. We
can repeal that law, amend it, or use an executive order to get rid of
that problem. That's why we are here, to fix these sort of issues".

Who would believe this crap? Never mind...the same people who buy the crap told to them by Rush, Beck, Coulter, etc......

That story is flat out BS.

As usual.

Agree w/prior posts... thanks to the first poster who bothered to go to Snopes to - without a shadow of a doubt - debunk this ignorant stupidity.

Yeah: how anyone could get their panties in a bunch over something as nonsensical as this just proves the idiocy of these people, who clearly DESIRE to find something, anything to get UPSET about.

booga booga, there's a black fella in the white house... shriek sob

This story is out there, everywhere, in the right wing InterWebs.

These people are so gullible, that they will believe anything. Including the possibility that an "Obama official" is as stupid as they are, and doesn;t know sixth-grade science.

Besides the fact that this is BS, I have two questions for the writer of this crap:

1) What the hell would ACORN have to do with this? (no need to answer fellow readers, I know the answer is nothing)

2) Since when does the American auto industry have its stuff so together that it can dismiss help from outsiders? When you run your business into the ground and then beg for taxpayer money again and again, you give up your right to complain when demands are made. (again, I know this isn't really from the auto industry and I don't hold them accountable for this garbage).

Ok, and just to throw this out there: We should defer to guys with "40+ years" experience and have driven the U.S. auto industry into the ground rather than soliciting new ideas?

Sure, not all of the new ideas are possible, but given the state of the car industry, you would think they would consider anything.

These people just WANT to believe that everyone else out there is as clusterf*&kingly dumb as they are and/or as were the appointees of W to various gov't posts.

Will all of BHO's appointees be smart/great/the best pick for that particular job/ good experience, etc? NO. But what is the likelihood that they will be as stupid as this post so dearly HOPES that they will be? Not so much.

But remember Rove's dictum: attack them with their stregth.

So BHO appoints smart folks, and the rightards shout out about how dumb they are. I smell a rove...

Plus: Acorn! Sheesh. But the buzz works, don't it?

Ha ha! Those libs r so dum they can't even get right the science that we don't believe in!
