Wish we could've sedated Cheney when he was pulling the Shrub's puppet strings, and he was HIDING the costs of the war (was never in the budget), as well as issuing no bid contracts to Halliburton, KBR, etc (where the money just flowed directly from the US Treasury into his private Swiss Bank Accounts) - remember those defense contractors? The ones who didn't provide our troops with adequate supplies, equipment, eletrical wiring, including the very recent poor mgmt of water supplies for our troops in Iraq & Afganistan??

Yeah, wish we could've put Cheney into "the big sleep" back then.

Just like these teabaggers: NOW you want to protest excessive gov't spending??? NOW??? Where were you for the past 8 years?

Yeah, the excessive spending thing gets to me. Because nobody is really for or against spending--they're just for or against what it's being spent on (and, sometimes, against having to pay for it).

Well, it seems like the right wing was all for the excessive spending of the Bush years as long as the perception was that the money was all for the "war on terror," and ALSO as long as the obscenely wealthy didn't have to pay any taxes to support it.

The money for this drunken sailor spending was supposed to come out of the pockets of those us who are just "too lazy" to earn over $250K per year (and really, believe me, $250K is still peon-ville).

As long as the money wasn't spent on teh lazy poors, cleaning up the environment, dealing w/global warming, teh horror of assisting teh poors w/health care, science, etc... then FINE: spend away!!! Wheeeeeeeee!!

But then when the peons just barely making $250k have to be taxed slightly more to clean up the mess created by the crazed Bush Admin: wah, wah, boo hoo, not fair, where's my teabag???

zmong!
