Fw: Spelling lesson

Curator's note: This RW FWD: is the same as this submission already in the archive, with just a little verbiage added. The RW dads I know personally are convinced that November is going to be a conservative revolution, as they seem to think these FWDs are some kind of indication of the mood of the electorate.

Subject: Fwd: Spelling lesson

Spelling Lesson

A short spelling lesson:
The last four letters in "American" = "I Can".
The last four letters in "Republican" = "I Can".
The last four letters in "Democrats" = "Rats".

End of Lesson.  Any questions?
Test to follow in November.

November has been designated as 'Rodent Extermination Month".

I Can... rail about family values and then have an affair with my staffer.

I Can... hate gay people while secretly being gay myself.

I Can... sell out to corporate interests.

I Can... generally be an Asshat.

We've got some faulty parallelism going on here, as the first two words are singular and the last one is plural.

So it should go like this:

The last four letters in "American" = "I Can".
The last four letters in "Republican" = "I Can".
The last four letters in "Democrat" = "Crat"

Which, of course, makes no sense.

Making them all plural is even worse:
The last four letters in "Americans" = "Cans".
The last four letters in "Republicans" = "Cans".
The last four letters in "Democrats" = "Rats".

These people aren't very bright.

Is this an illustration (for the simpleminded) of why RWingers like to change Democratic to Democrat? I mean, duh.

It had to be bitterly disappointing when the author couldn't pull out the letters for "Jesus" "pray" or "flag" from Republican.

All of these comments had me snickering.

You know what else you can spell with "Republican?"

Pubic, Relic, Liar, and Pain.

What else is new?

Wow. If ONLY I'd known this sooner, why then... I'd still have the same political beliefs I have now.

Is this supposed to be enlightening? If so, why and how?

The only thing meaningful here is that the this forward doesn't include misspelled words, but yes, mixing up the plural and the singular is, uh, dumb. meh

Frankly, I'm impressed that these "morans" can spell anything.

"Moran" reference for the win.

I'm with Bebe and Charlie. "American" and "Republican" are adjectives, Democrat is a noun, which is why people who try to say "Democrat Party" sound so illiterate. So let's try the test again:

Republican, American: ican (maybe "International Cesarean Awareness Network? "Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria?")

Democratic: atic (Advanced Technology Investment Company?" "Africa Twin Internetional Connection?")

Yup...meaningless drivel.

Yeah, we eviscerated this last time. Of course the Teabonics crowd giving a spelling lesson is rich with irony.

The last four letters of "Liberty" are "Erty". The last four letters of "Freedom" are "Edom". The last four letters of "Justice" are "Tice". All this is perfectly relevant to something. Somehow.
