Subject: HEALTH CARE REFORM
The American Medical Association has weighed in on the new Obama health care proposals.
The Allergists voted to scratch it, but the Dermatologists advised not to
make any rash moves. The Gastroenterologists had sort of a gut feeling about
it, but the Neurologists thought the Administration had a lot of nerve.
The Obstetricians felt they were all laboring under a misconception.
Ophthalmologists considered the idea shortsighted. Pathologists yelled,
"Over my dead body!" while the Pediatricians said, "Oh, Grow up!"
The Psychiatrists thought the whole idea was madness, while the Radiologists
could see right through it. Surgeons decided to wash their hands of the
whole thing. The Internists thought it was a bitter pill to swallow, and the
Plastic Surgeons said, "This puts a whole new face on the matter...."
The Podiatrists thought it was a step forward, but the Urologists were
pissed off at the whole idea. The Anesthesiologists thought the whole idea
was a gas, and the Cardiologists didn't have the heart to say no.
In the end, the Proctologists won out, leaving the entire decision up to the
assholes in Washington .

(reposting my comment I stupidly deleted)
I actually think this is a pretty good right wing forward. It required a lot more wit (and no direct partisan attack) then most others I've read.
So, I commend you RWF writer. I thought you guys are all conspiratorially idiots with obscure senses of humor...
Its interesting that this should get posted today, when yesterday the AMA actually told Congress that they endorse the plan.
It amazes me that the Insurance lobby can brainwash people whose lives would actually benefit from a national health care plan to think that it is, in reality, a communist takeover. They manage to boil it down from 'I've got mine, screw you!' to 'I'd rather go without than to see people I hate get what I would get!'.
Brilliant, in a Doctor Evil kinda way.
The GOP's plan to discredit/destroy education in this country is really paying off for them. Anyone with an ounce of intelligence or even common sense is derided as "elitist".
Old joke, decent, but old. The writer changed the set-up to Obama's health plan and the deciding assholes to Congress, so it is at least a teeny bit (indirectly?) partisan.
So, winnowhead, you don't have to give the RW credit for any of the wit if you don't want to. :)
(I am sure the joke is even older than this: http://0ldfox.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html but this seemed enough for comparison.)
So, for future reference, when any RWF seems to contain any tiny bit of wit or humor -- or talent of any kind, really -- you can just assume it was recycled. Because it was. Every time.
Yes, I've seen this before, and I srsly think it goes back to the days when my dad used to bring home lists of mimeographed jokes that were hand passed around the office. Folks, I'm talking 1950s.
So: no points to the right wing forward for the amusement value therein.
And there is NO coincidence that this was trotted out the day after the AMA voted in favor of the health care plan. Propoganda works in various formats, doncha know??
