Fw: Warren Buffett

Re:  Warren Buffett

Midwestern tycoon Warren Buffett, presented his quick and easy solution to America’s debt problem today on CNBC:
“I could end the deficit in five minutes. You just pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than three percent of GDP all sitting members of congress are ineligible for reelection.
(Lots of luck on getting such a bill introduced, let alone passed -- but we can pray, can't we.)

So we could still have a deficit worth 2.9 percent of GDP every year? Seems like that could add up pretty quick.

In fact, until the economy blew up and washington started bailing out wall street we were actually below this threshold despite our huge and mounting deficits during the last decade.

"solutions" like this are shortsighted and pointless. They sound good to bumpkins who refuse to spend more than 2 seconds a day actually thinking about politics, but real solutions are more complicated than that.

Yes Dominic,
refuse to spend more than 2 seconds a day
In contrast to you spending the entire day bitching with no solutions. You pathetic fuck. Why don't you come up with some real winner solutions? At least gruaud (who I can't agree with 99.999% of the time) works at providing facts and has some real solutions.

I know the site is so you can bitch, but bitching about pointless solutions is a bit like teaching a pig to sing. It annoys the pig and wastes your time. Do something worthwhile in your life and provide an answer for once.

Multiple troll infestation & hijacking... guess the trolls got what they wanted: a pointless exercise highlighting their vapid stupidity.

Unfortunately, with all the Congressmen who move straight from public office to lobbyist firms extracting favors from their former co-workers, I doubt kicking them out of office is the serious punishment Mr. Buffett believes it is.

"If the US Government was a family, they would be making $58,000 a year, they spend $75,000 a year, & are $327,000 in credit card debt. They are currently proposing BIG spending cuts to reduce their spending to $72,000 a year. These are the actual proportions of the federal budget & debt, reduced to a level that we can understand." - Dave Ramsey

Any analogy comparing the government's budgets, deficits, and debts to those of a family is oversimplified corporatist propaganda. See if you can figure out why.
