Subject: Guess I Won't Be Drinking Starbucks EVER!
Recently Marines in Iraq wrote to Starbucks because they wanted to let them know how much they liked their coffees and to request that they send some of it to the troops there. Starbucks replied, telling the Marines thank you for their support of their business, but that Starbucks does not support the war, or anyone in it, and that they would not send the troops
their brand of coffee.
So, as not to offend Starbucks, maybe we should not support them by buying any of their products! I feel we should get this out in the open. I know this war might not be very popular with some folks, but that doesn't mean we don't support the boys on the ground fighting! street-to-street and house-to-house.
If you feel the same as I do then pass this along, or you can discard it and no one will never know.
Thanks very much for your support. I know you'll all be there again when I deploy once more.

PLEASE DON'T DELETE THIS. ALLOW IT TO BE PASSED TO ALL IN MEMORY OF ALL THE TROOPS WHO HAVE DIED SO THAT WE MAY HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE TO SUPPORT THEM OR NOT! ! !
Also, don't forget that when the Twin Trade Towers were hit the fire fighters and rescue workers went to Starbucks because it was close by for water for the survivors and workers and Starbucks charged them!
JUST A NOTE TO THIS; STARBUCKS HAD STORES ON SEVERAL MILITARY BASES IN THE UNITED STATES. THEY ARE NOW BEING REMOVED BECAUSE OF THIS. GO GET 'EM AMERICA . STAND-UP FOR OURSELVES! Windows 7: I wanted more reliable, now it's more reliable. Wow!

The interesting yet not surprising part:
"Sgt Wright heard the story from a friend,
who had gotten it from someone else. He
talked things over with the marine who had
supposedly contacted Starbucks, and that,
coupled with that night's televised news
about the goings on in Iraq, made his
blood boil. He pounded out his thoughts
into the form of an e-mail, which he mailed
to ten of his friends."
See, this is why we call you reactionaries.
This makes me enormously happy that I have a full cup of Starbucks coffee in front of me at this moment.
Oh, this would make SO much sense, if it were true!
The idea that Starbucks - a corporation that exists for the purpose of making money - would do anything to "offend" the military is ludicrous. With the very rare exception of a few smaller businesses owned and controlled by ideological individuals, large corporations simply DO NOT take "principled" public stands like this one way or another. It's bad PR that could have a negative effect on the bottom line.
But the wingnutties somehow find this believable. Why? Because Starbucks sells premium coffee items, which are viewed as an elite/liberal/urban" product - therefore, an e-mail claiming that Starbucks-the-profit-oriented-corporation would engage in this sort of bad PR - er, this "disrespect" - sounds plausible to these people.
I like the Windows 7 bit on the end. Ads on the ends of emails are often inversely proportional to the quality of the content. Gmail forever!
Its just patheticly retarded that anyone would believe this nonsense. If Starbucks had ANY competition in this arena I'd think the #2 coffee company in the US might have started this email. But there isn't another company even close to Starbucks. This email is a complete and total waste of time.
Apparently he really likes Microsoft products.
Dipshit.
Agree w/prior posts re how corporations are very very unlikely to take a political stand like that. Also for the past several years, I've participated in a Starbucks charitable donation of coffee for the troops at Xmas. Customers pay for the coffee, and Starbucks foots the bill to get it to them. I think they plan to do it again this year.
Like one prior post said, I guess the RWFer is pissed because it is pussy urban leftest elites who drink Starbucks, so let's diss this coffee company... because!!!!!!! So there!!!! nyah nyah nyah, I'm gonna tell mom on you!!!
What a bunch of idiots.
