Shock to NBC

I'll bet this was a surprise to NBC.
NBC POLL

Do you believe that the word God should stay in American culture?

NBC this morning had a poll on this question. They had the highest Number of responses that they have ever had for one of their polls, and the Percentage was the same as this:

86% to keep
the words, IN God We Trust and God in the Pledge of Allegiance
14% against

That is a pretty 'commanding' public response.

I was asked to
send this on if I agreed or delete if I didn't .

Now it is your turn.
It is said that 86% of Americans believe the word God should stay.

Therefore, I have a very hard time understanding why there is such
a mess about having 'In God We Trust' on our money and having God in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Why is the world catering to this 14%?

AMEN !

If you agree, pass this on
, if not, simply delete..

In God We Trust

Boring Christian pseudo-martyrs are boring.

Love the pic of Jesus. Looks like he has a little Scandinavian in the gene pool.

Huh? Who's "catering to the 14%" and how? What? are we supposed to say the word G_d every other minute in all newscasts? Or what? Stoooopedatie knows no bounds. I don't even know what this means.

Yeah, WHITE Jesus is so realistic... if the real Jesus came back exactly as he was over 2000 years ago, these self-same smug idiots would label him a Muzlin-terrorist-joo-facist-socialist-Hitler-Nazi-commie-birth-certifekate-hater, and they certainly wouldn't want him to work for Homeland Security!!!

Jesus looks like a hippie there. Almost comical.

As one of the 14%, I feel so catered to...

As long as they're catering to me, I'll take my Margharita w/rocks no salt, pls, and thanks for skipping the gawd talk (finally!!!).

I guess I have to send the e-mail along because the author clearly agreed. Is that a trick question?

Uhhh...

Generally speaking, we "cater" to 14% of people (or some other number less than 50%) all the time, because, you see, we have this thing called a Constitution. It protects the rights of citizens, including those who are, for whatever reason, in the minority. As a patriotic American, I'm assuming you might have heard of this?

Oh, I'm sorry - you didn't actually want an ANSWER to that question, did you?

As a patriotic American, I beleive in preserving AMERICAN TRADITIONS.

The Pledge of Allegiance should not be altered! I demand we go back to the ORIGINAL version! The one written in 1892, not the altered version from 1954!

Oh wait...that would be the one written by the Christian Socialist. The one WIHTOUT the God part.

Christian and Socialist? Less god words more traditional? AIEEEE!!!!!

Sorting out the righteous from the not-so-righteous, the good old ways from the bad new ways...it DOES get confusing, doesn't it?!

WHAT??? You mean that democracy and the US constitution enables the rights of non-Xtians?? Why, why, why... that should be unconstitutional! Waaah, I only want MY way to prevail...

I've received similar RWFs. Every time, it's NBC you're supposed to petition. And every time, it's about how the word God or Jesus is being deleted from something. And, finally, every time it's the same bossy mandate:

This is not sent for discussion. If you agree, forward it. If you don't, delete it.
I don't want to know one way or the other. By me forwarding it, you know how I feel..

The funny thing is, it's usually something that isn't true. But if y ou write your "right wing relative" and say, hey, NBC isn't deleting the word "God," the right winger is never happy. I think they enjoy being aggrieved.

Rightards wish to see themselves as constantly under attack. this is one of the LIES that enable them to "justify" their racist, sexist, abusive, bullying behavior.

It's a very basic, unsophisticated, but very effective means of getting the mob to rally to your cause. If you perceive yourself as constantly under attack, then you can justify a lot of bad behavior bc of it.

And so you see: it works, esp w/those not very sophisticated or thougtful, which aptly describes most contards.

Just so you FOOLS know, NBC did not conduct any such poll in recent years.

Some Fundamalist Christian just made all this up by editing an even older fake message

I like the whole "I'm going to shove my opinion in your face by sending this to you, but I don't want to hear your opinion back" part at the beginning of the e-mail. Nice touch.
