Fwd: Law enforcement, Texas style.

Subject: Law enforcement, Texas style.

A young Texan grew up wanting to be a lawman. He grew up big, 6' 2", strong as a longhorn and fast as a mustang.  He could shoot a bottle cap tossed in the air at 40 paces.  When he finally became of age he applied to where he had only dreamed of working, A West Texas Sheriff's Department.

After a big mess of tests and interviews the Chief Deputy finally called him into his office for the young man's last interview.

The Chief Deputy says, "You're a big strong kid and you can really shoot. So far your qualifications all look good. But we have what you call an 'attitude suitability test' that you must take before you can be accepted. 'We just don't let anyone carry our badge, Son'".

Then, sliding a service pistol and a box of ammo across the desk, the Chief says, "Take this pistol and go out and shoot six illegal aliens, six ACLU lawyers, six Democrat Senators, six meth dealers, six Muslim extremists, and a rabbit."

"Why the rabbit?"

"Great attitude," says the Chief Deputy. "When can you start?"

Putting aside the usual conservative fantasies of murdering people who disagree with them, you have to wonder why they hate the ACLU.

Do they even know what the ACLU does?

Hey guys, maybe the people telling you to hate the ACLU don't want you to have any civil liberties.

Just like they don't want you to have social security, health care, and a decent education.

But, by all means, shoot them first and ask questions never.

...but remember: If and when gun violence against any of these groups does happen, there is absolutely no possible way it was encouraged by right-wing rhetoric. No way. None.

They didn't do a background check on Jared Loughner?

I'm sure AZ Representative Gabby Giffords will find this hilarious. A real laff-riot.

And let us recall that 2 RWFs ago, this same tribe was whiiiiiing about some purportedly leftwing person who used the "F" word at a "patriotic" Tea Party rally in Portland recently.

Yet here we have the same T-GOPers sniggering and sneeringly laughing their @sses off about killing people with whom they don't agree.

When Gabby Giffords was shot in Tucson, AZ - and several nearby citizens were injured and/or killed - it was the T-GOPers who raced madly to distance themselves from *any* responsibility for heinous crime, while twisting themselves in to pretzels to:

1. Prove somehow that Jared Loughner was leftwing
2. Prove somehow that Sarah Palin's crosshairs map, which included crosshairs over Gabby Gifford's district, wasn't really gun crosshairs, and even tho Palin used the phrase "lock 'n load" it didn't really mean that Palin wanted Giffords to be shot.

Yeah: this is the usual rightwing thinktank kind of joke that T-GOPers find hysterically funny. Let's go out kill a ton of "lefties" and then laugh our asses off about... but hey I'm so mortally *offended* bc a leftie in Portland told me to go fuck myself.

Go figure...

And minority groups distrust/fear cops? I can't imagine why.

Okay, this is probably just my own, personal pet peeve, but does anyone else find it kind of ironic that our big strong Texan is compared to a longhorn and a mustang?

You know - two non-native species whose importation had a lot to owe to the Spanish? Longhorns are a mix of European cattle and feral Mexican cattle - illegal immigrants, one might say. Mustangs are of course feral horses - freeloaders on government land, in fact - and horses are not native to this continent either.

Like I said - the utter lack of awareness of the actual origins of these "all American" comparison animals is just an ongoing peeve of mine.

Oh, for the days when advocating murdering random people would have been seen as wrong.

P.S. Giffords is doing great and she'll be attending her husband's shuttle launch.

Just so hard to remember and adhere to that 6th Commandment. Recall what Jimmy Carter said: if you sin in your mind/heart, it's the same as actually committing the sin in "real life."

If you quote Snopes, I can qoute the Bible. said...

@Hooray4US
Thank you 4 the references.
I took the liberty to show the text to the Bible verse references you made, but I added a couple more (some were on the same page) to go along with what you referred to. I added in parentheses a paraphrase or two.
Gen 9:6 Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man. (Babies included)
Gen 9:7 And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein. (don't kill unborn babies)
Lev 24:17 And he that killeth any man shall surely be put to death.
Lev 24:16 And he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name of the LORD, shall be put to death.(cursing GOD or swearing)
Lev 24:14 This man has cursed me! Take him outside the camp and have the witnesses lay their hands on his head. Then command the whole community of Israel to stone him to death. (cursing GOD or swearing)
Lev 24:15 And warn the others that everyone else who curses me will die in the same way, whether they are Israelites by birth or foreigners living among you.
Mat 5:21 You know that our ancestors were told, "Do not murder" and "A murderer must be brought to trial."
Mat 5:22 But I promise you that if you are angry with someone, you will have to stand trial. If you call someone a fool, you will be taken to court. And if you say that someone is worthless, you will be in danger of the fires of hell. (Name calling on either side of the aisle)
Mat 19:18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
Mat 19:19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. (Respect your parents)
Mar 10:19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.
Mar 10:15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. (Salvation is available from Jesus Christ)
Luk 18:20 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.
Luk 18:17 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein. (Accept Jesus into your hearts)
Rom 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. (Love all people)
Rom 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. (Even the presidents and kings are subject to GOD's power)
Jas 2:11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
Jas 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. (So if you stole even one piece of candy or told even one lie you are guilty of all of GOD's law, just as if you committed murder. GOD doesn't have a higher level of sin, only if you sin then you are guilty.

Dear quote Snopes -

Thanks for the many fine Bible verses, and I mean that. Many are applicable to this nasty little rightwing "joke" that makes sick fun of murdering people that you don't like.

I duly note that you make no reference to this joke, but you do take it upon yourself to add your own man-made interpretations to God's word as set forth in the Holy Scriptures.

Thanks for your "insights," I guess. I'm one of those old fashioned kind of folks, and I prefer to take my Scripture "straight" as it comes, rather than relying on some person's quite likely fallible interpretation of it.

So thanks and all and best to you, but I have to ignore your parenthetical comments bc I don't think that's what God meant, necessarily. Just saying that it's easy to foist your personal man-made judgemenat onto others, while losing out on the true meaning of the Bible.

Might want to keep that in mind for future reference.
