In church Sunday, I over heard the lady in the pew next to me saying a short private prayer. It was so sweet and sincere that I just had to share with you.
Dear Lord,
This has been a tough 12 months ... You have taken my favorite actor, Patrick Swayze, my favorite actress, Farrah Fawcett, my favorite musician, Michael Jackson, my favorite salesman, Billy Mays and my favorite athlete, Steve McNair.
I just wanted you to know that my favorite president is Barrack Obama.
Amen!!

Oh Lord! Please deliver me from fake "Christians" who wish to shove what they loudly & persistantly yell is "your" philosophy/dogma/rules down my throat, while also pushing their rightwing nutbar politicians to pass laws that regulate what I do with my body & in the privacy of my bedroom all allegedly in YOUR name, all while indulging themselves in the cardinal sin of pride by behaving with fakely "moral" self-righteousness & equally ersatz piety.
And then these fakes have the nerve to send out an email praying to YOU, oh Lord, asking you to *kill* someone just because these phony "christianists" don't like him.
Oh Lord, I've given up asking you what's wrong with these people, but I do ask you to have a good long talk with them at an appropriate time giving them a heartfelt explanation of what a true, Godly Christian is and how one should behave, especially in terms of following the Ten Commandments and the Golden Rule, as well the very wonderful teachings of you Son, Jesus, as depicted in the New Testament.
Thanks for listening, Oh Lord, because these fake "christians" sure never do.
Amen.

Matthew 4:10
Luke 4:8
Hopefully misspelling his name will negate the attempt.
I saw some amount of emails or jokes or whatever that dissed Bush when he was President, but I can say in all honesty that I never ever saw or heard anyone "praying" or wishing for Bush to be killed.
It is very sad that these fake religious types are so smugly judgemental when behaving in such a despicable fashion. No matter how much I might not like someone, I can state emphatically I never wish anyone "ill," much less wish them dead.
This is pretty creepy & the fact that the story is about a lady praying for this in church really doesn't say much in favor of the Christian religion.
This most likely could take place at Fred Phelps Westboro Baptist Church
Nice try, Hooray4US.
But you don't think these people actually READ the Bible, do you?
To last Anon post: DARN! Now you just gave away what those words mean!!
Do I think rightwingers actually read the Bible? Yes: probably about as much as they read the US Constitution!! (translation: not at all, but love to shout & scream & use both judgementally against so-called liberals).
blaney: There were a few. I remember a case of a 14-year-old girl who posted "Kill Bush" on her LiveJournal, IIRC, and got grilled extensively by the Secret Service.
There's more anti-Obama stuff, but the real difference is all the anti-progressive/Democrat/Obama-voter stuff--during the Bush years, you would never have heard anyone suggesting that all conservatives be rounded up and put into camps or the like.
