FW: Obama Spends Seniors Suffer

It  would be interesting to know what other presidents spent on tax payer paid trips.
To be fair we need to know what was spent on truly official trips  and what was spent on personal trips for vacations and campaigns.

Subject: FW: Obama Spends Seniors Suffer

Last year Obama flew in Air Force One 172 times, almost every other day.

White House officials have been telling reporters in recent days that the
Democrat doesn't intend to hang around the White House quite so much in
2011.  They explain he wants to get out more around the country because, as
everyone knows, that midterm election shellacking on Nov. 2 had nothing to
do with his health care bill, over-spending or other policies, and
everything to do with Obama's not adequately explaining himself to his
countrymen and women.

And with only 673 days remaining in Obama's never ending presidential
campaign, the incumbent's travel pace will not likely slacken.

At an Air Force-estimated cost of $181,757 per flight HOUR (not to mention
the additional travel costs of Marine One, Secret Service, logistics and
local police overtime), that's a lot of frequent flier dollars going into
Obama's carbon footprint.

We are privy to some of these numbers thanks to CBS' Mark Knoller, a bearded
national treasure trove of presidential stats.  According to Knoller's
copious notes, during the last year, Obama made 65 domestic trips over 104
days, and six trips to eight countries over 22 days.  Not counting six
vacation trips over 32 days.

He took 196 helicopter trips, signed 203 pieces of legislation and squeezed
in 29 rounds of left-handed golf.

Obama last year gave 491 speeches, remarks or statements.  That's more
talking than goes on in some entire families, at least from fatherly mouths.

In fact, even including the 24 days of 2010 that we never saw Obama in
public, his speaking works out to about one official utterance every 11
waking hours.  Aides indicate the "Real Good Talker" believes we need more.

Obama has spent over $100 million taxpayer dollars flying around in Air
Force One, and probably another $100 million on his entourage.  Obama is
just another tin-pot dictator living lavishly at the expense of his

And we seniors have to "tighten our belts" because we aren't getting a COLA
again this year... and none last year!

I love these forwards. The nerve of that guy to fly in Air Force One and use the damn Secret Service to protect him.

Who does he think he is the President?

Look at all these facts and figures! They're so shiny, I can hardly think straight!

Lesson: When the president flies in air force one it really hurts seniors; Republican privatization of Medicare does not.

Seniors: Republicans HATE you, unless you're a billionaire. That is the ONLY constituency they respond to.

Look at your bank statement before you read any RW forward hogwash; if you ain't seeing a 10 figure bank account, you are going to be seriously Effed in the A if you support these pricks.

Protip: The President is already rich and usually pays for his own vacations.

But I think I'd rather Obama blow a lot of money on Secret Service protection than spend more time on vacation than any other President in history, like a certain other recent President.

More rightwing thinktank distraction from who's really ripping off whom. As many here know, I am NO fan of Obama, but his secret service detail & flying in AirForce One??? What planet do rightwingers live on? Oh, that's right: Planet Delusional Bigotry.

Yeah, that's right: let's get our panties inna wad bc a BLACK Pres is using my white tax dollahs to, you know, be all President-y 'n stuff.

Better go read Rep Paul Ryan's (R) House of Reps bill that just got passed; gonna rip off Medicare & Medicaid from seniors whether they vote for the GOP or Dems.

Get a clue.

It's all about Keeping Those People In Their Place. Remember the similar conservative pearl-clutching over Speaker Pelosi's flights from DC to San Francisco?

C--s and n---s, amirite? Gettin' all uppity. Like they think they're... equal... or something.

You people are funny. I stumbled on this site. The above email is most likely totally bogus, but then it allows some preposterous statements like "those evil Republicans only care about you if you're a billionaire". LOL. Those mean, scary Republicans.
Whenever you stumble on a Democrat website it always equates to two thing's: How they know better how to spend taxpayer money, and how a Republican trying to control spending is either sending children or old people to an early grave. I always waver between hating religious goofball Republicans or intellectually lazy Democrats more.

I mostly agree with your sentiments, Dan C, and you can read that I dislike Obama intensely, along with most/all Dems. frankly our entire system is corrupt, and no pol is really a "friend" to anyone other than the megaRich.

But I do have to dispute one of your comments wherein you state that "the above email is entirely bogus."

Sadly: NO. No it's not. Many of us who comment here do so because our rightwing family members and friends forward this tripe to us daily, and sadly our family members and friends truly do *believe* every frickin' word, even the ones that seem (to me at least) to be blatantly bogus.

So yeah: "Democratic" voters can be intellectually lazy, too. But these RWFs are read, believed and forwarded on by far too many citizens. And I get NO equivalent emails from lefties.

So... who's more "intellectually" lazy then?
