Fw: Inherited?????

I'm Sick of hearing "Inherited"
The Washington Post babbled again today about Obama inheriting a huge deficit from Bush, blah blah blah.
Amazingly enough, a lot of people swallow this nonsense.  So once more, let’s try a short civics lesson.
Budgets do not come from the White House.  They come from Congress, and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democrat Party.  They controlled the budget process for FY 2008 and FY 2009, as well as FY 2010 and FY 2011.  In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.  For FY 2009, though, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office.  At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the FY 2009 budgets (remember the pork?).
And where was Barack Obama during this time?  He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete FY 2009.  Let's remember what the deficits looked like during that period:

If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the FY 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets.  That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending.  After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets.  If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself.
In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is, I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since beginning my term.
WAKE UP, AMERICA, BEFORE ITS TO LATE

How to lie with graphs 101!

The FY 09 is directly attributed to the last year of the Bush administration, because its all the spending he worked for and approved in the last year of his administration. That includes the 700 Billion dollar bailout and all the other emergency spending which was required to try and save the day after Bush's economy went in the tank. Thankfully, a lot of that money has been paid back, but a lot has also disappeared into the ether.

Another HUGE problem with this chart is the outright lying by Bush about the cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. They deliberately kept those costs off the books, and so they didn't get added to the bars for Bush's years. Obama decided that he would act as a responsible adult and actually count the cost of these ongoing wars in his budget (ie, he wouldn't fucking lie about it) and so his deficit projections are naturally larger.

One of my favorite charts (and a huge rebuttal to crap like this) is here:

Basically shows how almost the entire Obama projected deficit is, in fact, inherited from Bush.

Ah, yet another fine example of propoganda dumped out by corporate owned (note: those that benefited the most during the Bush years by tax cuts and TARP bail-outs) rightwing think tanks. Witness the unabashed lies and spin. Seriously, take note of how they do it. Bald faced lying without the slightest hint of shame.

Again I state that I'm not thrilled with all that BHO does, nor do I agree with every decision made by this Admin. But flame emails like this are patent bull hockey; clear lies. Pushed out there for the sole purpose of duping credulous rightwingers who have been carefully taught to buy this crap and believe it.

It's too darn bad. A loyal opposition would be nice. There is nothing "loyal" about lies, deceit and the intent to rip off citizens.

You misspelled "Democratic Party."

If you don't understand why this horrific
economy is inherited....based on a steady
diet of tax cuts for the rich, a series of wars
off the books, and MASSIVE corporate
footsie-wootsie -- you area fucking
brain-washed idiot.

It's 90% Re-PUKE-lican, you fools.

This is class warfare, and you Republican
dummies are the first wave. Once the system
wipes you idiots out, the rich flee to their
island paradises, protected by their private
armies, paid for by your tax cuts.

High fives, losers. Now go listen to Rush
blame those damned liberals who are trying
to save all of us.

For the love of America, please THINK.

"I'm sick of hearing 'inherited'."

Well, too bad ya brainwashed sheep. Wake up before it's too late. YOU are being manipulated by BilloRushGlennSean into believing b.s. and lies.

If you're "sick" of hearing "inherited" then perhaps you ought to question why it's being said, rather than having some knee-jerk reaction to reality and facts. Where were YOU during the 8 years of Bush, who signed on for the TARP bail-outs, lied us into a money-wasting war in Iraq and Afghanistan (to enrich Dick Cheney, amongst others), pushed for tax cuts for the obscenely wealthy and corporations.

Wake up!! If you don't like to hear "inherited" then vote for more responsible leaders for a change.

You are really annoyed by that, aren't you, Katz?? LOL... not that I blame you. It's a "secret" way for Republics to "diss" the Democratic Party... har har har, snort, what sophisticates they are!
