Only two blacks were newly elected to congress this cycle, and both are
Republican. Col West is from southern Florida, a bastion of the Democratic
Party. He won in a walk.
It is worth the viewing. This new Congressman was an extremely popular
commander in Iraq. He was forced to retire because during an intense combat
action a few of his men were captured. At the same time his men had
captured one of the guys who were with the Iraqis who captured his men.
Knowing that time was crucial and his interrogators were not getting
anywhere with the prisoner COL West took matters into his own hands. He
burst into the room and demanded thru an interpreter that the prisoner tell
him where his men were being taken. The prisoner refused so COL West took
out his pistol and placed it into the prisoner's crotch and fired. Then the
COL told the prisoner that the next shot would not miss. So the prisoner
said he would show where the American service members were being taken. The
Americans were rescued. Some one filed a report on incorrect handling of
prisoners. COL West was forced to retire. COL West was just elected in
November 2010 to Congress from Florida. During the elections he was part of
a panel on how to handle or how to relate to Muslims. You will see his
answer here.

Nice try. The 22nd district of FL is hardly "a bastion of the democratic party". The district has tipped slightly for Democrats in Presidential elections (Obama won 52-48, less than he won nationally or in the State of Florida). Its definitely a swing district, and prior to the Democratic waves of 2006 and 2008, it had be represented by a Republican for its entire existence. The fact that a Republican wave would sweep a democrat out of a historically Republican seat doesn't really back up the claim that this is a Democratic bastion.

This story is false. Col West did fire his gun near a prisoner, who then made a confession about a supposed ambush which was planned. Col West's men then operated on the "intelligence", but there never was any ambush. It didn't lead directly to anyone being rescued, it was a false "confession" which lead to nothing.

No, he was charged with assault and misconduct under the UCMJ. He admitted his guilt, and to avoid jail time he retired with full benefits. I shed no tears for a man who knowingly does wrong and then slinks away in order to avoid punishment.

I don't get what this is supposed to be saying "about Islam" either. Col West was fighting in the Iraq War. What do these conservertards expect the "enemy" to do?? Just cave in at a moment's notice?? And if they don't immediately cave in, then somehow that indicates something or other about Islam??? WTF??
It's not called a "War" because it's a video game, even though you'd think it was like that if you listen to rightwing armchair "warriors" babble about it.
