Subject: WALMART.....make sure you read it all

WALMART

1. Americans spend $36,000,000 at Wal-Mart every hour of every day.

2. This works out to $20,928 profit every minute!

3. Wal-Mart will sell more from January 1 to St. Patrick's Day (March 17th) than Target sells all year.

4. Wal-Mart is bigger than Home Depot + Kroger + Target + Sears + Costco + K-Mart combined.

5. Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people and is the largest private Employer, and most speak English.

6. Wal-Mart is the largest company in the history of the World.

7. Wal-Mart now sells more food than Kroger & Safeway combined, and keep in mind they did this in only 15 years.

8. During this same period, 31 Supermarket Chains sought bankruptcy.

9. Wal-Mart now sells more food than any other store in the world.

10. Wal-Mart has approx 3,900 stores in the USA of which 1,906 are Super Centers; this is 1,000 more than it had 5 Years ago.

11. This year 7.2 billion different purchasing experiences will occur At a Wal-Mart store. (Earth's population is approximately 6.5 Billion.)

12. 90% of all Americans live within 15 miles of a Wal-Mart.

You may think that I am complaining, but I am really laying the ground work for suggesting that.....

MAYBE we should hire the guys who run Wal-Mart to fix the economy because the idiots in Washington sure can't do it!

Leave it to the rightwingers to hold up a company as immoral, unscrupulous and unethical as Wal-Mart as a model to be emulated.

They must believe it's acceptable for workers to have no rights, that labor laws are broken, the environment is harmed through the mego buildings surrounded by miles of asphalt that are Wal-Mart stores, that the corporation has no respect for historic landmarks, and has destroyed small-town economy, (just to name a few of the many reasons I'd never shop at Wal-Mart), as long as a few dollars are made.

Yeah, right on!! Let's employ children in third world countries to work for ridiculously low wages and in bad conditions resulting in the ruination of their health and their lives, just so that fat, oblivious USA jerks can buy cheap stuff!! Yeah: that's the ticket.

Plus Walmart is horrid in terms of how they treat and pay their workers world-wide. They have an ongoing issue with sexual discrimination & not promoting women for mgmt positions, plus they deliberately make most workers be part-time so that they are not entitled to any benefits and can be laid off really quickly with little to no notice. They have poor working conditions and fight unionization all the way. Plus Walmart is notorious for providing their workers with instructions on how to apply for food stamps (endorsing teh eeevul socialism) because their workers cannot even "get by" on their poverty wages.

I own stock in Walmart simply to vote in shareholder elections to force them to improve their gawd-awful record of poor labor treatment world-wide. This is the LAST CEO that I would want "running" this country; it's already bad enough as it is.

Please! What a load of crap. These fools really are clueless, aren't they?? After they "make sure to read it all," then they should go get a job at Walmart, try to live on their poverty-level wages, endure the bad working conditions, and then report back on how "great" this company is.

It's GREAT for the Waltons, who have done nothing but laugh all the way to their off-shore bank accounts. Rich, greedy Republicans for certain.

I'm not sure this person realizes it, but we basically have been running the economy in the Wal-mart style for years. Outsource whatever you can, trample worker rights, cut benefits to the bone, and sell worthless crap to overeager consumers for a nickel less than the competition. The end result is great for shareholders and awful for everyone else.

At no point does the forwarder of this e-mail pause to wonder WHY Walmart is so dominant.

It must be because they're so well-managed, right?

The fact that someone could read this, jump to the conclusion that it must be a triumph of management, and never wonder what else might be going on, is really almost pathetic. (Hint: 3rd world slave-labor conditions. First-world poverty wages. Environmental destruction. Unethical business practices. The list goes on.)

If anything, people who forward this e-mail strike me as pathetically - really tragically - detached and naive. You really think that "good management" made Walmart a success in today's economy? Really? Do you still believe in Santa Claus as well?

Well, duh - they're Republican/"Libertarians", aren't they?

WV: raceflop. Appropriate, I think.

Brought to you by the same pathetically clueless dunces who believe that most of our country's woes are due to "illegals," while blatantly ignoring the company owners who go out of their way to hire undocumented aliens for paltry slave wages (if they are even lucky enough to get paid).

Blame the victim and pat the crooks & liars on the back.

Yes, it is the Republican/Libertarian way.

Anyone who believes that Walmart is the epitome of a "well-run" company is tragically naive, pathetically stupid, greedy & moronic or all three.
