Look at this woman - Let us never forget!
The world hasn't just become wicked...it's always been wicked.
The prize doesn't always go to the most deserving.

 Irena Sendler
Died 12 May 2008 (aged 98)
Warsaw , Poland

During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw ghetto, as a plumbing/sewer specialist.

She had an 'ulterior motive'.

She KNEW what the Nazi's plans were for the Jews (being German).

Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried and she carried in the back of her truck a burlap sack, (for larger children).

She also had a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto.

The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the infants' noises.

During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 children/infants.

She was caught, and the Nazi's broke both her legs, arms and beat her severely.

Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard.

After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived it and reunited the family.

Most had been gassed. Those children she helped got placed into foster family homes or adopted.

Last year Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize.

She was not selected.

President Obama won one year before becoming President for his work as a community organizer for ACORN

and

Al Gore won also --- for a slide show on Global Warming.

Irena Sendler's story has the same impact as the ending of Schindler's List.

Too bad the forward sullies this with such pettiness.

Fortunately for Irena, she received many awards during her lifetime recognizing her courage, selflessness, and inventiveness.

Wow, so many lies packed into one sentence.

President Obama was awarded the NPP as President, not "one year before". He did not win it for his work as a community organizer. And he never worked for ACORN.

This one isn't quite so bad:

Al Gore won also --- for a slide show on Global Warming

No. Al Gore won jointly with a lot of scientists who have made the public aware of the dangers of climate change, a phenomenon which can and will lead to more human conflicts in the future. So that's only 1 lie instead of 3.

Funny how conservatives now hold the NPP in such high regard. When MLK won it there were plenty of them who condemned the selection, wondering how someone who led to so much "agitation" could be given a prize for "Peace".

This is kind of an odd statement. 20 million Russians and 10 million Christians (who were probably part of that 20 million Russians) were not killed during the Nazi Holocaust. 20 million Russians did die during WW2, though a lot of them were purged by their own government, who we were allied with.

Sounds like dirty hippie Al Gore talk to me.

This is just pathetic. Irene Sendler deserves all the commendations possible for her bravery and heroism.

It's disgusting that FASCISTS (spelled correctly, thanks) use petty bullshit lies and hype to distract from her accomplishments.

It's like: WTF? Why use Ms. Sendler to diss, slander & bald-faced lie about Obama & Gore?

It's too bad that Sendler didn't get the NPP (I'm not sure whether she was ever nominated or not but wouldn't be surprised). But do idiotic fascist conservatives even *realize* that it's the NPP committee who make the award? And that they're Norwegian??

Like what? IF fascist conservatives are so *incensed* about who got the NPP, why don't they go hold one of their shouty rude bullying Tea Party Town Halls in Norway??? It has nothing to do either with "Democrats" or with "liberals" or with anyone in the USA.

Not only fascists but teh stoopit, as well.

I'm sure if asked both Obama and Gore would say she deserved it more.

I imagine that if Sendler had been saving Muslim babaies, she'd be a goddamn traitor.
