Isn't It Ironic?

The food stamp program, managed by the Department of Agriculture, is pleased to be distributing food stamps to more than 46 million people in the USA.

Meanwhile, the Park  Service, also managed by the Department of Agriculture, threatens to prosecute those who "Feed Wild Animals," because the animals may grow dependent upon us and not take care of themselves.

Then the righteous will answer him, "Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?"

The King will reply, "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."

Let them live like kings for that minimum wage.

What do we do with the poor?

Have slums and keep them there like third world countries?

Build factories and use them as slave labor?

Let them die and decrease the surplus population? (Not my words)

It is not like there are tons of well paying jobs that these people are turning down.

Yes some people game the system and they need to be cut off.

Props for correct use of ironic. Most people confuse it with coincidence. Yes Alanis I'm talking about you.

I doubt the Dept. of Ag is "pleased" about having more poor to feed, among food stamp users are many Walmart employees whose company's low wages are being subsidized by the USA food stamp program.

Why is it so easy for those on the right to compare other people to animals? Only in an anonymous email can the right reveal its true moral vacuity.

I also find it ironic that those who want to spread their Christian religion throughout the land would probably crucify its founder all over again for being a commie/socialist.

It's painful for me to try and think like a conservative, but here goes: 'the Dept of Ag is a gigantic government bureaucracy that likes to meddle, so more poor is a win for them. The entire department should be dismantled.'

Ouch, I think I just lost about a million brain cells.

IOKIYAR, and how!

The "government," aka US Congress & Senate, is mightily pleased to continue extending the Bush/Obama tax cuts to the very very wealthy, and Nancy Pelosi is industriously pushing those goal posts for the 1% by saying anyone making $1mill or less should continue to have those tax cuts cuz, you know, people making $1mill per year are so middle class.

But horrors! Some of your tax dollars, which aren't being used to drone & bomb the crap out of innocent women & kids world-wide, might - gasp shudder shriek moan - be used to assist US workers feed themselves.... as gruaud says, including those "employed" by Walmart.

It IS ironic that conservatives are blissfully happy when the 1% continues in their co-dependence on the US middle and working class, but is horrified by the working class & the poor being cut a break by getting some food cheaper than usual.

Note how the rightwing think tank compares US citizens needing assistance to animals.

Not accidental. It's called desensitization. FYI.
