One of Maxine's very best!!
We need to show more sympathy for these people.
* They travel miles in the heat.
* They risk their lives crossing a border.
* They don't get paid enough wages.
* They do jobs that others won't do or are afraid to do.
* They live in crowded conditions among a people who speak a different language.
* They rarely see their families, and they face adversity all day ~ every day..

'm not talking about illegal Mexicans ~
I'm talking about our troops!
Doesn't it seem strange that so many are willing to lavish all kinds of social benefits on illegals, but don't support our troops?
Wouldn't it be great if we took the $360,000,000,000 (that's billion) we spend on illegals every year, and spend it on our troops!!!

Please pass this on; this is worth the short time it takes.

A veteran is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to‘The United States of America ’ for any amount, up to and including their life.

Fuck you, "Maxine" (or actually, fuck whoever took a picture of "Maxine" and inserted these stupid words). I don't know of anyone who wants to "lavish social benefits on illegals". Typical right wing bullshit: when the truth isn't good enough, lie your ass off.

Wouldn't it be great if we took the $360,000,000,000 (that's billion) we spend on illegals every year, and spend it on our troops!!!

Yup, it should would be great if we stopped doing this imaginary thing and spending this imaginary number which I just pulled out of my ass! Of course, the military budget is already double your made up number.

You know how we could support the troops? Not sending them off to die in stupid ass meat grinder wars for years on end which have no clear mission and make no contribution to our national security!

Then maybe we could fully fund the VA, and fully fund the GI Bill, and create a massive jobs program retired vets so that they don't sacrifice their long term economic viability as a consequence of choosing to serve.

Oh, silly me, these are all things Republicans have consistently opposed. Way to support the troops, assholes!

"They live in crowded conditions among people who speak a different language." That sounds like a real hardship if you're a xenophobe. I thought it sounded like my last trips to Paris and Rome.

To last Anon: ROTFLOL! It is rather amazing how rightwingers can victimize themselves over nonsense.

I agree with first Anon: this is a lot of LIES and bullshit signifying nothing. Team USA is spending mega-Trillion$$ annually on a plethora of Warz, Inc (in many countries, not just Iraq & Afganistan). Frontline did an expose on it this week highlighting how a huge amount of money is totally unaccounted for. That's YOUR tax dollars & mine, my friends: up in smoke.

Pallets of Yankee dollar$ are flown overseas never to be seen or heard from again. Yet I duly note that Dick Cheney is rolling in more money that he knows what to do with... Haliburton no-bid contracts, anyone??

This is typical conservative bunkum sent out to confuse the easily misled. Let's steal the Maxine gif, cut 'n paste onto some multi-colored fonts (crayons, anyone) and include a load of insane claptrap that purports to be about "supporting the troops," all while ALSO being incredibly RACIST and anti-dirty-Messicans coming to spoil my life & steal my money.

This one isn't the most egregious by far, but it's pretty nasty... and for the crowd for whom this *propoganda* is aimed, it's actually kind of subtle.

Duly noted and duly disgusted, as usual.

Ever since 9/11, Americans have decided that anyone in uniform is holy, sacred and above reproach.

We LOOOVE the military and can't get enough of it.

At high school graduations, grads who get scholarships get a smattering of applause. Those who announce they're joining the military get a standing ovation.

I have no idea why a couple of planes crashing into buildings have turned us into a nation of soldier worshipers, but if you see someone in uniform this coming 9/11, the least you can do is offer to give them a blowjob.

It's the patriotic thing to do, you know.

Military worship porno = getting US citizens to fecklessly part with their hard-earned money to support unnecessary wars.

Honoring enlisted personnel is all very well, but this is just propoganda. USA was lied into these wars under proven false pretenses; they're really costly; and they're doing nothing to make us "safe" from "terrorism." If anything, we are less safe.

Dick Cheney laughs all the way to the bank with his filthy lucre...

"so many are willing to lavish all kinds of social benefits on illegals, but don't support our troops?"

If your thesis depends on a lie this boldly moronic, it probably means your thesis is bunch of shite.

How do conservatives support our troops?

Blindly cheer them to their doom at the behest of corporations. Waving a flag and spitting poison at everyone else.

How do liberals support the troops?

Not sending them to their deaths in the first place.

Wonder what the troops think of each point of view?

Not the generals, who are almost never in harm's way; but the grunts and noncoms.

Cons won't get it, but they don't even get where the water in their tap comes from.

It's REPUBLICAN John McCain who voted against increasing enlisted personnel pay and Veteran's benefits:

For conservatives, "support the troops" means waving flags, wearing flag pins, making sure you use your right hand over your heart to say the pledge of allegiance and all sorts of other totally *symbolic* drek.

When it comes to *really* supporting the troops with adequate equipment, provding adequate pay & benefits, conservatives are often AWOL or finding some way to cut everything possible.

Conservatives support the troops? Not so much.

Why they continue to employ this crotchety, grumpy, bitter old "Maxine" caricature to channel their supposed disgust is beyond me considering that they are, or should be, desperate to court young voters. Not that I'm complaining, I hope they never stop.

heh... to last Anon: good point. Maxine is used because of the self-absorption of conservatives. They can relate to Maxine, who is like them: nasty, crotchety, grumpy, whining & complaining (mostly about nothing), selfish, and ultimately boring.
