You know what would really help the soldiers' and teachers' salaries? Tax increases.

Just saying.

Um... none, because the money was going to get paid either way and there was no shutdown anyway.

Whats the point of this email exactly? Show a bunch of numbers (which probably aren't accurate) and then ask if they were affected by something that didn't happen? To demonstrate (for the umpteenth time) that these people have no idea about the workings of the budget or the fact that they continually vote for people whose most important mission is cutting government spending on things like teachers and solidiers in order to secure tax breaks for the ultra wealthy?

Just sad.

I wonder how this writer feels about the former members of the military with 20 or more years of experience who earn half of their salary for life as a pension.

Paid for life, but doing nothing now to earn it. Are they OK with that?

So, uh, let me get this straight: Are these rightwingers NOW saying that they think *teachers* should be paid more??? I thought teachers were the scourge of the universe & caused the crash of 2008 because their dreaded *unionized* salaries & benefits were far too high??

Gee, so little time, so much confusion in rightwinglandia.

I agree that enlisted personnel should get paid more, but this country also needs to cease its addition to War, Inc.

It would be helpful if rightwing think tanks actually sent out correct information to their flocks of sheep, but I won't hold my breath for that to happen.

I'm more worried about former Congressmen and military leaders moving on to even more highly-paid "consulting" jobs lobbying their former coworkers on behalf of industry.

You know what would really help teachers and everyone else? Slowing the increase in medical costs and bolstering the stagnant wage pool for all but the top few percent of American workers.
