Note: This is unconfirmed.  Has anyone heard anything about this?  This is wild, if true.  Nothing like this in my lifetime by a sitting president.

Well at least they acknowledge that this is unconfirmed. Though the fact that they make they leap from "unconfirmed" to "OMG THIS IS TERRIBLE" without actually thinking through how ludicrous this sounds is sad.

Huh? There's loads of laws out there already on the books - many of them introduced and passed by Reublicans - that *jail Americans.*

But yes, let's victimize ourselves to the BLACK President. What a load of crappy propoganda.

Man, if only there was some way to CONFIRM things on this magical email machine. If only there was some kind of international network of computers, or a web of information that covered the world...

What the proposed bill does is essentially set up a committee which will help with the collaboration and inter-agency investigations into violent domestic terrorist organizations, which are very, VERY real.

Then again, I don't know what I'm talking about. I just wrote my masters' thesis on the use of the internet as a communication tool by white supremacist organizations.

Which also reminds me. Wasn't there some kind of, I don't know...plan? Agency? Directive? A kind of...I don't know, act, for patriots? Which allowed the surveillance and wiretapping of American citizens without the need for a warrant? I wonder which administration came up with that.

As usual, people don't have a problem with it at all, until of course they're the ones under the microscope.

Marc's first comment: Cool. Do you read Dave Neiwert's stuff?

In fact, here's a recent article on that very problem.

Oh I see, the BLACK Pres is proposing to investigate the very real, very documented threat of WHITE supremicist, violent groups, and so now rightwingers have their panties in a bunch.

These are the same rightwing think tank and corporate media stars and Rethuglican politicians who have been inciting and encouraging white supremicists to be violent against dirty libruls and the US President, have been advocating for succeeding from the nation (based on ??? the fact that the Pres is black), which used to be considered traitorous. But, as we know: IOKIYAR.

But to have a Democratic BLACK Pres step up and seek some means of dealing with increasing domestic terroristic violence, which threatens all citizens. Why how dare he? Who does Obama think he is? The President??

Sheesh. All done to gin up problems and pit the "small" people against one another.

What kind of reality would you have to inhabit to think that getting "news" from the Kremlin is a good idea?

It is odd how regularly rightwing propoganda pieces quote from the Kremlin or from Pravda (which is different from the old Pravda under the Soviets, but still). Makes me wonder. In days of yore (not so long ago), a "good" conservative would have never agreed to listen to the Kremlin. Didn't Sainted Ronnie of the Raygun say that the Soviets were the evil empire?

What's up with that? And where are conservatives' brains? (don't answer that)
