I was a young man. I won't grow old because some police officer illegally searched me, illegally arrested me, and then gave me a "rough ride" to the station which broke my back and killed me.
I was 11 years old. I used to play cops and robbers and pretend I was a policeman, just like other little boys. I won't do that anymore, because some cop decided I was a threat to an empty park and rolled up on me and opened fire.
See, this can work both ways.
Stop acting like you're above the law you're sworn to uphold.
Sounds like you're an asshole. No one will miss you.
Yeah, cry me a river, Pig.

Ever since the original Gulf War and more specifically once W was in charge and made the statement (paraphrasing here) "You're either with us or against us", that has been the general mindset of the country in general. Neither side of the aisle has a stranglehold on stupidity although the conservatives seem to carry the lion's share and this RWD forward is a shining example. I support the police and the troops yada yada yada and know most of the time they have a thankless job but that doesn't give them carte blanche to commit attocities and violate civil and let's face it, general human rights. They SHOULD be called out and prosecuted to the full extent. Most police are good, I work with several locals here on a regular basis but the fact is there are some bad apples. This bullshit of painting everything as an all or none, black or white argument is obtuse.
It's like saying everyone in Texas is a tinfoil hat wearing lunatic worried about an Obama takeover to get your guns, implementation of Walmart concentration camps and Sharia Law or that everyone in CA is a lilly-livered flaming Liberal. It just isn't so.
I wish conservatives hated police unions like teacher's unions
To LiberalGunner -
In fact, it's conservatives/rightwing who HAS screamed and whined about PD PAY and PD Unions, especially since the 2008 crash. You may be forgetting that it wasn't only Teacher pay that the rightwing screamed about. They also complained about the HIGH pay of PDs and firefighters, too. One recent example (read comments too):
http://lasvegas.cbslocal.com/2013/03/12/conservative-group-calls-police-salaries-inflated/
http://www.newrepublic.com/blog/jonathan-cohn/77272/are-cops-and-firefighters-paid-too-much
http://www.salon.com/2014/04/11/obscenely_high_police_salaries_wheres_the_political_outrage/
Ya see, conservatives'll line up to diss the PD for their "too high" salaries, which they aren't entitled to. But hey! stone-cold murdering blahs? Why, no problem! Give that officer a bonus (just NOT from MY taxes)!!!
This weasely treacle is not only vomit-inducing, but per nearly everything RWD sends us, it's the height of hypocrisy.
I'm surprised that the Right hasn't complained about the fact that we actually pay our soldiers in uniform. If they love their country so much, shouldn't they be working for free?
The GOP hasn't been very supportive of pay increases for the grunts and Vets:
http://www.military.com/daily-news/2013/12/13/house-trims-pay-raises-for-troops-retirees.html
I'm sure most rightwingers resent any pay increases for the troops, but they're A-OK with massive Military budgets overall. Cognitive dissonance reigns supreme. As others have pointed out, kiss up kick down is the rule of the day for conservatives.
Top Brass, who haven't won a war since, uh, forever??? Give 'em giant sucking salaries.
The grunts who, you know, do the actual fighting, get killed, maimed, have PTSD, etc? Screw 'em!
So, ferschitz, CharlieE, and Hooray4US....I really must have missed something in this RWF. Where oh where does the police officer that is alluded to in this RWF complain about his low pay? Hum?
Additionally, what does the military have to do with this? Unless you just want to rant about our military....and yes...I just answered my own rhetorical question.
Y'all are a bunch of nit-wits.
Whine, whine, whine.
Mike Hawk
Mike complaining about a convo going off topic is laughable since he's probably the biggest single offender. It just drives home the point he's a complete dumbass. See Mike's diatribe about Michelle and the kids in the Jenner RWF forward above...off topic. Damn Mike, you are one stupid MF'er.
I really must have missed something
Understatement of the year.
