The subtext here is pretty clear: the "millions of applicants" would like to do bodily harm to him, and historically this kind of thing has an ugly history often involving castration of black men. Gruaud understands what's actually being alluded to here.
Nowhere in the original RWF is castration mentioned....neither is a confederate "lynch mob".
Rather, almost ALL Jews are circumcised at birth by their rabbis by traditional norms.
