He needs an external enemy to divert attention from the apartheid nature of the Israeli state, keep donations coming from American Jews, solidify the increasingly shakey political support Israel has in the USA, and keep the focus off his abysmal record of failure in his domestic policies, as well as divert attention from his genocide of Palestinians, including babies, kids, women and the elderly.
Netanyahu has a significant base of opposition in Israel, itself, and from some portion of American Jews. There's a reason why. They're fed with his war-mongering, with Israeli apartheid, and the appalling treatment of non-Jews in Israel. There are other domestic issues and problems in Israel about which most US citizens are totally unaware because Fox and Rush don't discuss that. Netanyahu came here mainly to do a campaign speech, but it also played into the usual divide & conquer Kabuki Show put on for US citizens by the 1%.
Israel is the tail that is used by the US 1% to wag the dog of supposedly "needing" more War, which is only about the 1% making money.

Israel and the USA have a very co-dependent relationship, which is not particularly healthy for anyone. Are you aware how much of YOUR tax dollars are going to support Israeli infrastructure, like their roads, their public transportation, their schools and their broadband internet connection - not to mention all of their War armaments??
Have you checked out the status of similar infrastructure in your home town? Do you wonder why you should pay for Israeli infrastructure when your own infrastructure sucks? If not, why not?
