If you have a 'low, boiling-point' or 'short-fuse' this is a warning....DO
NOT READ!
May cause heart failure.....especially the last paragraph regarding NANCY
PELOSI!

Subject: Salaries..........

I have no information as to the validity of these numbers, but I
have to agree with the premise of the article and suspect that the numbers
reflect what has actually happened in the USA.

THE WORK ETHIC WE INHERITED GROWING UP HAS FALLEN PREY TO THE
'WELFARE' SYSTEM.

The Cato Institute released an updated 2013 study (original study in
1955) showing that welfare benefits pay more than a minimum wage job in 33
states and the District of Columbia. Even worse, welfare pays more than $15
per hour in 13 states. According to the study, welfare benefits have
increased faster than minimum wage. It's now more profitable to sit at home
than it is to earn an honest day's pay.

HAWAII is the biggest offender, where welfare recipients earn $29.13
per hour, or a $60,590 yearly salary, all for doing nothing.

Here is the list of the states where the pre-tax equivalent "salary"
that welfare recipients receive is higher than having a job!!!!!!

1.  Hawaii: $60,590
2.    District of Columbia: $50,820
3.    Massachusetts: $50,540
4.    Connecticut: $44,370
5.    New York: $43,700
6.    New Jersey: $43,450
7.   Rhode Island: $43,330
8.   Vermont: $42,350
9.   New Hampshire: $39,750
10. Maryland: $38,160
11. California: $37,160
12. Oregon: $34,300
13. Wyoming: $32,620
14. Nevada: $29,820
15. Minnesota: $29,350
16. Delaware: $29,220
17. Washington: $28,840
18. North Dakota: $28,830
19. Pennsylvania: $28,670
20. New Mexico: $27,900
21. Montana: $26,930
22. South Dakota: $26,610
23. Kansas: $26,490
24. Michigan: $26,430
25. Alaska: $26,400
26. Ohio: $26,200
27. North Carolina: $25,760
28. West Virginia: $24,900
29. Alabama: $23,310
30. Indiana: $22,900
31. Missouri: $22,800
32. Oklahoma: $22,480
33. Louisiana: $22,250
34. South Carolina: $21,910

As a point of reference the average Middle Class annual income
today is $50,000, down from $54,000 at the beginning of the Great Recession.
Hawaii, DC, and Massachusetts pay more in welfare than the average working
folks earn there (after taxes). Is it any wonder that they stay home rather
than look for a job?

2.  Time for a drastic change!  America is virtually bankrupt. Are
we NUTS or what? How do we un-do this type of stupidity on the part of
Americans?  This is CRAZY!

Salary of retired US Presidents..$180,000 FOR LIFE
     Salary of House/Senate....$174,000 FOR LIFE
This is stupid!  Salary of Speaker of the House ....$223,500
FOR LIFE!
This is really stupid!  Salary of Majority/Minority Leader
$193,400 FOR LIFE

Ditto last line Average Salary of a teacher... $40,065
Average Salary of Soldier DEPLOYED IN AFGHANISTAN... $38,000

Think about this. Nancy Pelosi will retire as a Congress Person at
$174,000 Dollars a year for LIFE. She has retired as SPEAKER at $223,500 a
year.   PLUS she will receive an additional $193,400 a year as Minority
Leader.

That's $590,900.00 Dollars a year for LIFE including FREE medical
which is not available to us  the taxpayers.  She is just one of the
hundreds of Senators and Congress that float in and out every year!

I think we found where the cuts should be made!

If you agree..... Pass it on, I just did. -----

Ugh! Lawmaker's salaries are NOT "for life" and their pensions are NOT equal to their full salaries, and they certainly do NOT get a separate full pension for each position they held. They also cannot collect their pensions until retirement age:
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2013/oct/17/chain-email/chain-email-says-lawmakers-earn-salaries-life-whic/

And as far as the welfare wage thing, complete BS of course. The writer starts off saying "I have no information as to the validity of these numbers", so perhaps he/she has a SHRED of morality swimming around somewhere in the dark, deep waters of their murky brain.

Are wingers so strung out on outrage that the disclaimer at the top fails to have any effect? The writer pretty much says: This may all be B.S. but I choose to be outraged anyway.

Hey while we are outraged about salaries and "hand-outs" how about this: http://www.businessinsider.com/chart-wall-street-bonuses-vs-minimum-wage-earnings-2014-3

Seems that Wall Street made twice as much money in bonuses than all of the full time minimum wage workers in the U.S. combined made in a year. Where is the outrage on that? Or do they deserve large bonuses for running the world economy into the ground?

We've seen these LIES before, and then, too, they were preceded by the stupidity of "I can't verify this but let's all stand around being OUTRAGED at the teh poorz"! Of course, the LIES can be verified as complete crap nonsense & pretty easily.

That said, hat tip to 2d Anon comment, and THAT is why this ridiculous swill is sent out by some rightwing think tank. The think tank knows that the dittoheads have been *reliably* ginned up by Fox/Rush to hate, Hate, HATE on teh poorz, who are the true culprits ripping us all off. It's dodge to distract these dumbfecks from the reality that it's the 1% who've ripped us all off... and royally... and continue to do so at break neck speed.

But: divide & conquer. Pit one segment of the 99% against another segment of the 99%, and the rip-off greed-heads in the 1% can laugh their entitled @sses off all the way to their off-shore accounts.

The rightwingtards who read this swill & get reliably upset with teh poorz think they've won the lottery bc these RWFs make it acceptable to be racist bigoted sexist jerks. Woot! go figure.

Ok, let's play devil's advocate.

Let's say Pelosi gets 500,000 a year for life and (gasp!) benefits.

That is a drop in the bucket compared to CEO pay. Some of these guys make $354 for every dollar earned by the wage slaves. This is the largest gap in the world and it is accelerating.

Are you ok with that or do you consider it unjust?

Are CEOs worth the money they make? Are they worth the massive bonuses voted to them by their own board of directors? Did you know that most multi-national corporations are fighting tooth and nail vs FEC to hide CEO compensation?

So even if this bullshit about Pelosi were true, it's nothing compared to the actual robber-barons ruling us today.

You're being conned.

I think we've already dissected this talking point recently, but as a gentle reminder:

This report lumps together all of the most lucrative welfare programs, regardless of how difficult it is for the typical needy person or family to qualify.

It compares those to an individual worker's salary (sans any potential benefits like insurance) in this era of two working parents.

It's a very silly study.

I contacted the authors of the report. They calculated the potential maximum taxable equivalent benefits a person might possibly collect in each state. They did not go out in the field and meet people. I am a CPA. Among all the tax returns I have prepared and my my friends and relatives have prepared over the past 30 years, NOT ONE person who's is poor -- more than 10,000 returns among 20+ CPA's who prepared over 100,000 -- ever obtained the maximum possible.

Welfare scammers are bad guys.
Robber barrons are bad guys too. But we can boycott their products to get some relief. Think about that the next time you are at Mr. Buffet's Dairy Queen.

Someone thought N. Pelosi was not a sinner because her $500,000 was a 'drop in the bucket'. It's not the amount, it's the gall - Ms. Pelosi helped write the rules that made the 1% scream ahead of the rest, aided by their lobbyist's inducements to said Polosi.

Fry 'em all. In Hell of course.

To last Anon:

Alleged Welfare Scammers' rip offs are a drop in the bucket in comparison to how badly the Robber Barons have ripped us off.

It's all very well to try to stop welfare fraud, but believe me, you and I much more at peril from the parasitic rich.

And yes: boycott Mr. Buffet's Dairy Queen, if you like. If you think that will make a difference to Mr. Buffet's bottom line, then good luck. I'm all for boycotts but they have to be organized.

I do agree that all politicians are corrupt and bought off. I'm glad that you are seeing that as well.
