Subject: FW: Almost 13 years ago at Yankee Stadium
I don't think your political persuasion matters when you watch this video!
Don't know if you have ever seen this but it is well worth the time!!Opening World Series Pitch – Almost 13 Years Ago.Most people are not aware that a secret service guy dressed as an umpire the night President Bush threw out the first pitch during the 2001 World Series at Yankee Stadium. Great story. None of the newspaper guys ever picked up on the "stranger" in the umpire's uniform.Remember this was just after 9/11...................This is the U.S.A. at one of its best moments....Watch this ..... it's great ..

Not sure what the purpose of that video was, but it made me want to eat some apple pie and waterboard someone. Ah, patriotism!
Nostalgia? Though the right wing don't like to discuss the botched wars, multiple terrorist attacks and financial disaster that Bush 43 presided over, they do love to reminisce about his greatest PR moments, such as prayer breakfasts and baseball pitches.
And never forget "Mission Accomplished".
Actually, political persuasion does matter.
The worst terrorist attack in our history occurred under Bush the Lesser's watch. And as the US tried to rally together during this crisis, the RW proceeded to demonize the left like it was our fault. Demagoguery of the worst kind. Don't try to rewrite history, I remember.
And come to find out Dubya thought that throwing out that pitch was the most nerve-wracking thing about his entire presidency up to that point.
Not the first plane hitting WTC.
Not the 2nd plane hitting WTC.
Not when it when it was disclosed that our enemy was Al Qaeda.
Not the Anthrax attack.
Not the economy bleeding US jobs every quarter.
Nope, he was worried about throwing a goddamned baseball and not looking foolish in the process.
WPE.
Eh? I think Bush the Lesser wasn't phased by 9/11 bc it was an inside job. It has also been reported in the "nooz" papers that the CIA often arms & trains Al Qaeda, who originally were funded by the Bush Family's BFF's in Saudi Arabia. So, one can sort of see why W didn't flinch over 9/11.
Given his frat rat demeanor, one can only imagine that the most significant action in his Presidency - other than wearing a codpiece for the Mission Accomplished photo op - was throwing a baseball. And hey: for W, that probably WAS an incredible challenge.
So why am I supposed to be "nostalgic" or feel patriotic-y about this event?
Buehler?
Buehler??
