Why on earth would any Democrat, or reasonable person for that matter, be dedicated to electing the most right wing madman this side of a Congolese junta?

I can't be bothered to listen. If someone wants to give a short summary, I guess that'd be helpful. As with Anon, above, I'm not sure why I need "courage" to hear it all. I suspect I've heard the talking points before, and really, I don't give a stuff about them. Color me: not shaking in my shoes, boss.
For the benefit of ferschitz and others, I endured this video.
I'll sum it up;
First, the man has a very run-on and slick "gish gallop" delivery, and it's clear it's aimed at a captive and very friendly audience. This guy would fail spectacularly in a general election if he campaigned just like this.
The first half was basically an ode to unapologetic pursuit of individual wealth. If you're not rich like him ( 250m ), you should aspire to be and try to be. Rapaciousness as Gruaud says. Good word.
The second half is basically neocon chickenhawk masturbation. A flag waving, "bomb 'em all", USA! USA! rah-rah fest beyond belief, and would make both Bush's look like Neville Chamberlain by comparison.
