Ok, while the idea of trying to keep the poor off drugs (which may actually contribute to their poverty) is not such a bad idea, in theory. (As opposed to conditioning the reciept of support on drug tests, which is a bad idea.)
But, the whole thing smack of "I'll only help people like me." I'm a lawyer and am well paid. To be paid in that manner I need to have a law degree and a license. So, by his logic my money should only go to help support down on their luck attorneys or others who can pass the bar exam.
"This from the same crowd who claim to be "Christians" and that this is a "Christian Country."
Yup. Somehow they missed the following passages in that book they so dearly cling too (while simultaneously push on people)
“It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God”
"If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven."
"You cannot serve both God and Money."
and that old favorite:
"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
