Damn, that gopher is one ugly mother foker....uncanny resemblance to brother gruaud from California. ;-)
Oh well, at least the gopher doesn't think he knows it all like gruaud, and only gives us his "opinion" once per year, thank God.
Unfortunately, gruaud on the other hand, gives us his asinine and juveniles opinions continuously whether we ask for them or not.

As opposed to 23 months of Mittens.
Yeah, that would have been grand.
The LDS were pretty excited when Mitty was up to bat. They were ready for the White Horse Prophecy to come true, transforming the US into a LDS theocracy. It would have been a wake up call for all the conservatives...
Mitt flip-flops more than that ugly groundhog pictured above.

Oh really Randall?
So I guess JFK wanted to create a Roman Catholic theocracy, by your fucking idiotic reasoning.
You're so full of shit, plus that's just a cheap shot at the Mormons.
Fuck off, you liberal scum.
@Anonymous,
Nope I live in Utah, that was all the propaganda the churches and the more devout followers in this state. Research your candidates, better yet, join a LDS Church if you don't believe me.
I'm with Randall. I, too, live in Utah, and there was plenty of talk about the White Horse Prophecy here. Mormons (almost universally Republican) believe that this country is going to be very close to collapse and then a Mormon will save us all.
Not a cheap shot; it's just what it is.
CharlieE and "anon" are full of it. So quick to opine, without actually knowing the FACTS...in typical liberal "know-it-all" fashion. I don't care if Mitt Romney believes the moon is made of goat cheese, he's far better equipped to deal with the problems this country is facing than the sitting President ever was or will be.
Having said that, the White Horse Speculation is just that. It is not in The Doctrine And Covenants, therefor it is not canonized scripture, therefor it is not doctrine of THE Church Of JESUS CHRIST Of Latter Day Saints. What Mormons believe in is celebrating life, not the sins of the world.
The LDS Church itself does not accept the so-called White Horse Prophecy, which was not recorded as such in the records of the Church. While Joseph Smith may have said some related things, it is too much a stretch to suppose the memories of a couple of men who tried to piece it all together many years later could be accurate enough to label this a true prophecy. I have read it from non-Church sources, and recall the supposed White Horse represents a people, not an individual. So no, however accurate the supposed prophecy may or may not be, Mitt Romney is only one man, and cannot fit the description. But he is more likely to uphold the Constitution than Obama is, in my own personal opinion. Note, "uphold" is not equivalent to "save."
Like all other prophesies its too vague and can be interpreted in multiple ways. What is that "one day" which the prophesy says? No exact date is mentioned.
And the story about why Mormonism was founded is a bunch of rubbish. Smith was a necromancer and a money digger who came up with the BOM as a way to make more money, not expecting to make money out of the idea. But people began to believe it so he developed a religion around it, with no thought whatsoever of "taking the government back and institute Mormons in government offices." That idea didn't come around until Smith was a candidate for the presidency, long after all the troubles in Ohio and Missouri. I really wish these guys who say this stuff would study LDS history a bit more thoroughly.
P.S. - Not to mention Obama while falsely claiming to be a Christian to some groups, goes on to deride the sermon on the mount as 'radical' and not something you can base a society off of in others. Obama has no problem disrespecting Christianity and Judaism while glorifying the 'Prophet' Mo; I'm not sure Romney can do any worse than that.

Talk about being delusional! If anyone thinks that anyone in the District of Criminals (or those running for office therein) has the slightest interest in or concern about the US Constitution, especially in regard to "upholding" it, well, let's just say I have a great bridge to sell you. Cheap. Special for you today. Nice golden color with great views across the San Francisco bay...
And Mitt RMoney would be "better" in Wash DC? Yeah, probably better at picking the US taxpayer's pockets. I give him that. Just look at his record with Bain Capital. Yeah, what a patriot! What a guy! Really looking out for the 99s, that's Bishop Mitt for sure.
Cue Mike's response in 3...2...1....

Is that why it is hard for me to find/buy beer above 3.2% ABW or impossible for me to buy a lottery ticket?
So quick to opine, without actually knowing the FACTS...in typical liberal "know-it-all" fashion.
On your lecture circuit, please stop buy Utah inform the LDS here of the "FACTS", I gave up trying to reason with a devout close-minded Mormon years ago.
Truth be told I had never heard of the While Horse Prophecy, until I moved here and Romney ran for President, then I had several LDS telling me about it. How that makes me (or CharlE for that matter) an "opine" "know-it-all" is a mystery to me.
In addition I find it amusing that after "Mike" claims we don't know the facts he makes some claim that Obama is a Muslim, which has only been factually disproven more times than I can count. Hell, Obama's killed more Muslims than I can count.
In addition, it would be nice to see Mike actually type a comment that didn't have a personal attack or a staw-man in it, however my hopes are not that high.
I heard about the White Horse Prophesy quite a long time ago. Some Christian churches are very aware of it and somewhat subtlely have been anti-LDS in part bc of fear that the Mormons will try to make the USA a Mormon theocracy. Call that crazy, but there is concern about this prophecy no matter what the LDS Church believes or thinks about it.
Like Randall, I also heard more about it when Romney ran for President both from Mormon friends and from those still opposed to the LDS Church.
If some are angry hearing about this Prophesy, then go talk to your Mormon friends about it and tell them to shut up about it already. Attacking commenters here really doesn't change anything.
Which Christian Churches are "anti-LDS"?
Please cite a source for me.....
You're full of bologna.
Um… there are a bunch of Evangelical Baptist churches that really loath the Mormons. A lot of denomination of Christian (and other religions for that matter) claim that they are the right path and all others are false. Are you new to religion?

About 30 seconds on the Google. Where I heard it about anti-Mormon sentiments in Christian churches was anecdotal - when attending some of my family members' churches. You can say that I'm "full of bologna" all you want, if it makes you feel better. However, I'm not making up anything. I speak from direct experience and what I've heard some Christians say.
In all honesty, I found it rather amusing to witness my rightwing fundamental evangelical Christian family members bend themselves into pretzels to support Mitt Romney for Pres. Again, you can say I'm full of it, if it makes you feel better. All I'm reporting is what I've heard my family say for decades about Mormons, and how they're not Christians and in fact, worship Satan. I, personally, don't agree, but that's what they have said.
Suddenly when Romney became the Republican Pres candidate my formerly anti-Mormon family members outdid each other to praise Romney and speak about his ethics, etc. Again, I, personally, don't care that they did this. Just reporting.
You can pretend that no Christians are anti-Mormon, if you want to. That's your prerogative.
So, let's clarify: IGNORANT "Christians" hate or are anti-LDS.
Ignorance is bliss. :-(
"Ignorant" Christians is "Mike Hawk's" terminology, not mine.
I will clarify that, from strictly personal & anecdotal experience (therefore no links), I know many Christians who believe that those who are not Christians "worship Satan." I don't agree with this. Just reporting. And yes, they believe that Jews, Muslims, Mormons, Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, whatever ALL are "worshipping Satan."
If anyone is familiar with the LaHaye "Left Behind" series, this belief system is at least implied in it (I could only stomach reading part of the first very poorly written, tediously dull, very predictable "book," but that was my take on it).
That's enough on this topic for me. Good luck.
