It also says NY Daily News, so better expect it to be anti-labor, antisocial, anti-taxes of any kind...but especially anti-taxes for the New York Daily News.

Today's RW acts like the Class War is a relatively new thing. 1949, ye say?

Contards, it's as old as the Egyptian Dynasties and then older than that.

Yes, the years after 1949 were just soooo painful for America, Thanks to high tax rates on the rich, money actually trickled down, and we saw the blossoming of the middle class and the rise of the US as an economic and political super power. Perhaps today's old folks had it too easy in their post 1949 formative years, but these are different times--the pendulum needs to swing back to a more equitable economy and the right wing is on the wrong side of a stark reality of economic misery. The more they sing songs of economic fantasy, the harsher the pendulum will swing. There is a whole new generation who have only experienced capitalism as an unbalanced, unfair economic system. They have seen no proof that capitalism is a good thing.

This is yet another one of those "Oh, you are SO CLOSE to reason!" moments.

Why yes, that DOES say 1949...now follow that through for a moment...

What came after 1949? 1950, 1951, 1952 - ah yes, the 1950s! You know, the Good Old Days? Right before the Good Old Days, they were saying mean things about Democrats, because they were mad about the fact that government spending was up. The fact that government spending was up - in fact - the fact that we'd had a long stretch of liberal Democratic leadership, soon to be followed by a Republican president who was so liberal in comparison you would pillory him today - was what led into the 1950s, a.k.a., "The Good Old Days" so....

Just try to follow the logic through here, people, try really, really hard....
