YET.......................
They
have

'Benefit'
For the people of Haiti on 12 TV
stations,
Ships and
planes lining up with food, water, tents
clothes, bedding, doctors and medical supplies.
Imagine if
The
*GOVERNMENT*
Gave 'US'
the same support they give to other countries.
Sad isn't it?

Whoever wrote this e-mail sounds like a commie freeloader to me. Asking the government to provide basic services to its citizens? We only hand out bootstraps here, comrade!
Also, our total foreign aid per year to the entire world is less than $50 billion, or 1% of the federal budget.
We would only spend "Hundreds of Billions of $$$$$$'s" if you count the wars abroad, which is at least $117 billion as of the 2012 budget proposal (on top of the $700 billion annual DoD funding).
Ho hum.
We've dissected variations on this theme, and anon hits a ringing double off the wall.
We can easily fund SS, Medicare, Medicaid, infrastructure, feed the homeless, modern public education, the Post Office, etc, etc. IF the rich pay their share. But they don't give a shit about this country and buy off judges and politicians to further their interests at the expense of the middle and lower classes.
And, as usual, many conservatives let Rush and Fox and tripe like this do their thinking for them. Lazy and uninformed...a think tank's dream voter.

This is typically poorly written with some pretty fact-free assertions, but the underlying issue is real. That said, "foreign aid" - of the type I think this screed is ranting about - is but a very tiny portion of the overall US budget.
As for Haitians livin' large on all of that there US gubmint largesse: yeah, pull the other one, ya racist douchebags. I can hear that racist dog whistle from 10 miles away. Go talk to Sean Penn about just how *great* things are for the Haitians even now... Penn's actually put his own shoulder to the wheel to get shit done for Haiti, which is pretty much still in miserable shape.
The US gubmnit isn't funding foreign adoptions for the Lowered's sake! I thought these rightwingtards were all about personal liberty to choose whatever they want. Foreign adoptions happen through the personal choice of the parents and usually at great personal expense. I am not aware of the USA funding such adoptions. And anyway, if these losers are so "worried" about US kids not being adopted, why then: go for it! Sad to say, most US kids available for adoption tend to be minorities, so... uh, well...

A big giant sucking *distraction* from where our money does get spent, however, which is the DoD and WAR, Inc. But I guess conservatives are all A-OK with the Military Industrial Complex getting the lion's share of the US budget.
And hey: if you're so damn worried about cuts to Soc Sec & Medicare, then why'd you vote for Mitt RMoney, then? Well, frankly, Obama's gonna do the same thing, but seriously??

I thought the right wing believed in private charity as a better option than taxation? This 1%-er (I seriously doubt that's the case) needs to get off his lazy butt and stop asking the government to do the charity that he needs to be doing at home.
