Says the guy who made billions over the years from government contracts.
Says the guy who's entire industry relied on massive government investment in roads, infrastructure, and the development of cities in a way that encouraged car use (a lot of it on lands which were *ahem* "acquired" from Native Americas).
Says the noted bigot and anti-semite.
Says the (and here's where it gets complicated) guy who insisted on paying his workers a living wage so they could actually afford the cars the were building. I wonder if those who pass this email along also believe that businesses ought to pay their workers a living wage so that the government doesn't have to step in and take care of them?
Let's take a closer look at oil and mining corporations, in addition to native Americans. Especially when they were unregulated.
1. I believe there were cars before paved and govt paid roads. 2.Henry Ford was denied by the Govt. because the GOVT was bought off my another car maker that was trying to block Henry Ford. But Henry said I am going to make my car anyways. So your BS tid bit untrue remarks are shot.

Billybob here: If you check with the Henry Ford Archives, ol' Henry never made this comment about Government and the Native Americans. Actually Henry encourage the development of highway infrastructure. Henry and the government were at odd at times, but the Government never shut him down for his beliefs. And during your dads war, Henry did make money from manufacturing weapons including jeeps, tanks, and air-o-planes.
I also believe that they tax those workers to pay for paving those roads. I also believe our troops needed all of those items manufactured. The bottom line is the Indians were lied to, murdered an many other horrible things. That is the point of the quote not what Henry did or did not do. Unfortunately the government has its hands in everything these days whether it should or not and we just have to deal with it.
Thanks for letting us know what you "believe" about a fake quote implying some vague menace on the part of a nebulous "Government."
.. The bottom line is the Indians were lied to, murdered an many other horrible things.
Indeed, because they weren't citizens and because citizens like Ford and his workers were OK with, and even actively encouraged, these crimes to take place.
The Indians never asked the government to "take care of them". The citizens of the US asked their government to "take care of the Indians", with a whole different meaning of the word "take care".
Unfortunately the government has its hands in everything these days whether it should or not and we just have to deal with it.
And the citizens of this country are free to demand that the government stop doing things at any time. But did it ever occur to you that government does things because people actually WANT them?
1. I believe there were cars before paved and govt paid roads
A few, but the industry never would have taken off and become as important as it is without massive government investment in roads. Automobiles would have been a hobby without practical use for most people.
Just like the railroads and the Internet and aerospace and a ton of other industries, it was GOVERNMENT money and action, in some form or another, which helped it happen.
Re: the roads comment - it was government that built the roads that created our car-dependent infrastructure and therefore our oil dependency and contributing to global warming. If we'd been more Libertarian, who knows - maybe we'd have our flying cars like we were supposed to!
