A classic!

" A government policy to rob Peter to pay Paul

can be assured of the support of Paul." Geo B.

"The point to remember is what the government

gives it must first take away." John S. Caldwell

Over five thousand years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel " pick up your shovel, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the promised land".

Nearly 75 years ago, Roosevelt said, "Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, and light up a camel, this is the promised land".

Now Obama has stolen your shovel, taxed your asses, raised the price of camels, and mortgaged the promised land!

Furthermore, I was so depressed last night thinking about Health Care Plans, the economy, the wars, lost jobs, savings, Social Security, retirement funds, etc... I called Lifeline, the suicide help line. Got a call center in Pakistan. I told them I was suicidal.

They all got excited and asked if I could drive a truck...

The daisy-chained forwards are really strange. There's a dissertation waiting to happen on the mutation of these things.

In light of yesterday's attack on the IRS by someone who felt impoverished by taxes (but owned a plane) this is disturbing.

They do a great job with this meme that Obama raised taxes--except he hasn't. 95% of Americans got a slight reduction. The constant attacks on Roosevelt lately are a sad attempt to change history. Roosevelt gave my grandfather a job (with WPA) when there were no jobs, my grandfather was endlessly grateful. I'm sure there are plenty of Americans today who wish Roosevelt were here to give them a job too.

Franklin Roosevelt deserves to be on Mt. Rushmore.

Excuse me? What? Have they never heard of the CCC, the WPA, the TVA, or any of the other programs Roosevelt created to put millions of Americans back to work? That wasn't welfare, that was real work which laid down important infrastructure across the country. I wonder how the people who worked in these programs would feel about being told that they just "sat on their asses"?

Also, since when did the Israelites have shovels or camels? And since when did Obama raise taxes?

Response to Anon: I assume that your questions are rhetorical, but they raise the point that nearly 100% of these RWF emails are complete, utter, total, craven lies. Amazing that a certain percentage of our population gleefully and willingly lines up to be fed bullshit on an ongoing basis. History rewritten for the benefit of coporate fat cats, but foolish rightists somehow think it's wonderful to vote against their own interests. Go figure.

Roosevelt wouldn't have said "asses" because that would have been considered vulgar and not presidential back then. It's still fairly vulgar now, and if Obama said it to The American People, said People would probably start posting on Free Republic about what hideous ghetto trash he is.

Roosevelt said that? Wow, that's sorta like the time St. Ronnie Reagan said...

"Fuck the poor."

He said that, really, he did, many say that it is true.

Right-wing morans.
