Boy, it's a real shame we didn't go with the Republican solution to the health care mess, which was to... er... remind me what bill Republicans proposed? I seem to have forgotten...

Oh right, shovel more money into the hole, get angry about abortions, and make it impossible for mistreated patients to sue.

Yes, President Obama misspoke. Here is what he should have said:

If you're happy with your health plan or your doctor, you can keep them. That is, the government will not take them away from you. We cannot, of course, guarantee that your insurance company won't change your plan or cancel your plan. We cannot guarantee that your insurance company won't go out of business or merge with another company, rendering your plan redundant among the merged companies' product lines. We cannot guarantee that you will not die before being able to take advantage of your health plan. And of course, we cannot guarantee that the Earth won't open up and swallow us whole. OK?

Of course, the Republicans would still complain. And why shouldn't they? As first-world healthcare plans go, the ACA stinks. But then how could it not stink? It was written based on Republican ideas.

The reason they're laughing is because ACA now has over a million people enrolled and it's growing by the thousands every day.

And that translates into a million more votes for the Democrats.

Face it, GOP -- you've blown it again. Next massive fuckup will be immigration reform.

Wow...that knee-slapper ranks right up there with "Mission accomplished!" doesn't it.

I'm pretty cynical about ACA & Obama, and Obama did tell us that everyone could keep their plans... until, of course, some could not. So...

ACA is based on a plan developed originally by the rightwing Heritage Foundation and originally proposed by Bob Dole.

It would be helpful if rightwingers spent some time and energy learning these things, but that'll be the day.

Although cynical about ACA, I remain open. Let's see what happens. If I'm pleasantly surprised that it goes better than I think it will: yay.

OTOH, what alternatives/other ideas/other plans/other suggestions did the conservatives offer??

Buehler? Buehler???

Hahahaha!

Medicare? You mean government run socialized medicine? You mean the same Medicare that the GOP is trying to destroy and turn into a private market voucher system? That Medicare?

Medicaid? You do realize that a huge portion of Obamacare is the Medicaid expansion, right? That's how millions of people are getting covered under ACA, even as I type this. Millions more would be covered if so many GOP governors weren't such heartless, gutless, brainless whiny babies and stopped refusing to join the medicaid expansion. In Texas alone it is estimated that a million people could be covered if Perry simply accepted the Medicaid expansion that is part of Obamacare.

Put simply: if you enroll in Medicaid today you are enrolling in Obamacare! They are now the SAME THING, you dolt!

A dolt indeed. A real doozy here:

"You morons ever heard of Medicaid or Medicare ? Which is where most people are enrolling in instead of the disaster called obamacare"

Another ignorant teabagger who also no doubt uses a favorite teabagger canard like "Get government hands off our medicare!"

I'll bet he's one of those sages who are against "Obamacare" and for the ACA.

Our latest RW visitor is wildly misinformed, slightly incoherent, confused, and angry.

In other words, another avid FOX viewer.

When you start your rebuttal by calling someone an idiot, you've made it pretty clear that you have no argument.

A valid argument speaks for itself.
