Fwd: FW: Check This Out

This is creepy!!

The United States of America, Police Force,  Whether we like it or not.  Thank you Mr. Obama, or should I say HEIL.
They really are here, it just isn’t rumor any more.

Photographed in western Colorado. We will be seeing more and more of these in the coming months.
October 26, 2013 via Facebook Mobile on my phone.

So, as I was about to park, I saw this vehicle, so I quickly got out of my car and took a picture as it drove by.  As the driver saw me do this, he slammed on the brakes, and asked, "Do you have a problem?"  To which I replied, "Just taking a picture. Is that illegal now?"  He then eked forward a few feet and stayed there in the middle of the road for about a minute and a half until a car approached him from behind, forcing him to move...   This, ladies and gentlemen, is the FEDERAL POLICE FORCE (or Federal Protective Service, or United States Secret Service Uniformed Division as they are also known) we have been hearing about and the actual recipients of all that billions (yes, billions) of rounds of ammunition that is being produced for and procured by the Social Security Admin, The IRS, and other various government agencies for what purpose.  They are here, right inDowntown Grand Junction.   What is the real purpose of a Federal Protective Service and why do we need them?   Feel safe yet?   Google, United States Secret Service Uniformed Division and see what you find.

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

"The Federal Protective Service (FPS) is a federal law enforcement agency that provides integrated security and law enforcement services to federally owned and leased buildings, facilities, properties and other assets."

Also, since when do conservatives advocate being rude and confrontational around the police?

FPS was formed in the 1970's and if you ventured near any federal building for the last 40 years, you've seen these guys.

Just remember, before you fools became teabaggers and were told to hate DHS, you cheered the loudest for it under Bush.

Trouble, oh we got trouble,
Right here in Grand Junction!
With a capital "T"
That rhymes with "P"
And that stands for Police,
That stands for Police.
We've surely got trouble!
Right here in Grand Junction,
Right here!
Gotta figger out a way
To keep the young ones moral after school!
Trouble, trouble, trouble, trouble, trouble...
(apologies to Meredith Wilson)

Doi! Next up: Black Helocopters from the UN iz kumin' to git us!!!!!

Tony Hillerman, who wrote wonderful Native American police procedurals based in the 4 Corners Area - not far from Grand Junction, CO - often poked fun at (but was also a tad worried about them) these rightwing militia types constantly seeing Big Gubmint (whether from USA or them damn furriners) encroaching on them.

Some things never change, including willful stupidity & ignorance.

No. You'll be seeing about the same amount that you might happen to see now.

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

This is just a federal security detail that protects federal property, which is hardly about giving up my liberty. Talk about an over-reaction.

OTOH, this person no doubt would have screamed about what a traitor I was when I was protesting the Patriot Act before it was passed. How does this rightwinger feel about the Patriot Act now?

One fed security officer, and this keyboard commando is peeing in his panties....

Reductio ad absurdum. One of the pillars of RWF...along with false equivalency and straw man. Oh and they basically invoked Godwin's Law with the "Heil". Rare form on this one.

I do background investigations for a living and run into these folks all day long. The FPS falls under the Department of Homeland Security (NOT the Secret Service). They are charged with guarding federal facilities (or ensuring they are secure, which means dropping in unannounced on buildings guarded by private security).

Believe it or not...THERE ARE FEDERAL BUILDINGS IN COLORADO. As a matter of fact, there are 89 of them!

These people are too much for even hollywood, with all their latent paranoia of a police state.

Right-wingers 2000-2008:

All Law & Order-ey. "If you're not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to fear" or "Are you with us or the terrorists?" "God Bless 'Murka"

Right-wingers 11/2008-Present:

"Oh noes, tyranny of the government!" "Get government hands off my medicare!" Freedom! Blah blah blah
