Did you know?
2,700,000 kids have a parent in prison.
400,000 kids are in foster care.
And 765,000 kids are separated from their military parents not knowing if the see them again.
But the media focuses on 2,000 kids who are temporarily separated from illegal immigrants

Only one of those things is being done on purpose, by people we ostensibly elected to "promote the general welfare."

Yeah, well you'll have that in a burgeoning police state that worships law enforcement. Private prisons are quite the profitable ventures nowadays too, and so they need plenty of fodder, which an increasingly militarized police force is more than glad to provide.
"400,000 kids are in foster care"
And so, what alternative is better? Statistically, most children in foster care are with relatives.
"And 765,000 kids are separated from their military parents not knowing if the see them again"
I wonder why that is? Bloated military? A succession of categorically imperialistic military ops 'round the world? The every hungry MIC always needing to be fed? Or maybe it's the position they're put in because conservative economic policies have hollowed out the working class to the point where a hitch in the military is the only thing that stands in the way of their being destitute.

To whatever degree is being focused on is because it's...uh...happening. You're attempt to trivialize using the smallest number at the bottom is as pathetic as your attempt to dehumanize a powerless group of kids that did nobody any wrong.
