Even leaving aside "Darkies knew their place and we all lived in fear of instant nuclear armageddon...."

Television, credit cards, and penicillin all date back to the 1920s. A 58-year-old woman's *parents* would have been familiar with all of those things, unless they were as dumb as the author of this e-mail.

Wait.

A 58 year old woman was born in 1949. She was twenty in the Summer of Love. Her grandkids are less likely to have smoked pot than she was.

Strange that she called men "sir." I make them call me "master."

I think it would surprize a lot of Greeks and eastern Europeans that no one heard of yogurt before 1949.

Sir Alexander Flemming is credited with discovering penicillin in 1929.

Amazing how those traditional Americans could ensure that every family had a father and a mother. There was no death in the old days. How we have fallen.

If this woman is 58 years old, this email was written in 1978.
