No, Hillary Clinton is not the first woman to be nominated by a political party for president. Victoria Woodhull was, and she didn't even have the right to vote, nor did her running mate, Frederick Douglass. Her story is a hell of a lot more inspiring than Hillary Clinton's, Victoria Woodhull wasn't part of a political machine, she was a champion of women's suffrage at a time when such a notion was extraordinarily unpopular.

Considering you troglodytes are still anti-suffrage, that's pretty amusing.

Ok, fair enough. And Jill Stein is going to be nominated by the Greens in August. She also hasn't a hope in hell of winning. Neither did Woodhull. So, sick burn, rightwing dad!

How about 'nominated by a major political party with a realistic shot at being president'?

And that is no hype.

Wow, talk about whining. Yes, we all know that other women have run for President. Clinton herself acknowledges this, as she has clearly stated that she is the first "from a major party". Which is true.

Funny, RWD wouldn't give a shit about Victoria Woodhull (or Frederick Douglass for that matter), except as a weapon to try and bash Hillary. Lame.

Victoria Woodhull might have declared her candidacy, but she wasn't even eligible for the office, as she was only 34 years of age at the time of the 1872 election.

Another Right Wing fail.
