Subject: Natural Born Citizens
Purdue University: Natural Born CitizensThose of you who worry about Democrats versus Republicans -- relax, here is our real problem. In a Purdue University classroom, they were discussing the qualifications to be President of the United States. It was pretty simple. The candidate must be a natural born citizen of at least 35 years of age. However, one girl in the class immediately started in on how unfair it was of the requirement to be a natural born citizen. In short, her opinion was that this requirement prevented many capable individuals from becoming president. The class was taking it in and letting her rant, and not many jaws hit the floor when she wrapped up her argument by stating, "What makes a natural born citizen any more qualified to lead this country than one born by C-section?"We need more help than we thought we did!
What's really funny is that if you do a search of the joke, you'll see dozens of conservative blogs and even an e-book preaching it as gospel.
ReplyDeleteThis is why conservatives just aren't funny. Their ideology has to trump (see what I did there?) everything, including humor.
The girl in question in the joke WAS a Republican.
ReplyDeleteNice play on words there Gruaud.

I've enjoyed reading letters to the editor in my local nooz paper, where conservatives self-righteously proclaim how Ted Cruz is so totally a natural born citizen because his mother is a US citizen.
ReplyDeleteFrankly, I don't care all that much, but the usual hypocrisy of conservatives is typical. Of course, Cruz is less melanin challenged than that one in the White House.
Vis the "joke:" yes, our deliberately dumbed down educational system is, indeed, a huge problem. Too bad the 1%, in collusion with witless gutless conservatives, intend to keep the current status quo.
I'm all for keeping the debate about Rafael Cruz's qualifications going. I don't care either way, but there are people who do care a lot, and they're all Republican.
ReplyDeleteCruz won't be losing votes from Democrats over this issue.
