My contention is that conservatives are employing their usual double-standard. GOP policies starting with Reagan put America in the shitter, but that was ok. But when Obama was elected (in a landslide, don't forget), America suddenly wasn't great anymore.
And to be great again, we need only elect der Trumpenführer.
"I Love You All"... Except dark skinned people who are lazy (N-word) Except Muslims, even those born in the USA Except Women who bleed from icky places Except Mexicans, even those born in the USA (but it was great to have illegal Mexicans do a lot of lower than minimum wage work in building and servicing my casinos and hotels bc that's how I got richer than gawd, but f*ck them now and go back to your lowly disgusting crime ridden country) Except anyone who isn't a white male born in the USA.
Yeah, it's "funny" how when an someone from the R-Team is President, this is the greatest country EVAH!!! And if you suggest that there are problems, you're shouted at that you're not a patriot and all the usual Fox/Rush crap.
But when a D-Team politician is President, especially if dark skinned, then suddenly it's totally patriotic - nay verily your bounden white male duty - to whiiiine endlessly about how our country is not great anymore.
So, yeah, let's elect an adulterous, much married, fascist white supremacist with shitty taste, and that'll fix everything!!!111!!!
Let's not forget another item that's "preventing" America from being great:
Trump actually said "wages are too high in this country" to compete with the rest of the world, but his swaggering bravado seems to hypnotize the very working class fans he seeks to marginalize.
Yes Donald, all we need is a pay cut to make America great again.
Good point. I think most of Trump's feverishly excited base tuned out after the one or two times Trump said something negative about billionaires running the government. I've seen that sentiment touted quite a bit on various blogs.
Trump's comments about US workers earning too high wages/salaries seems to have flown over the heads of his cheering supporters. Oh well, never let factual reality get in the way of your fantasyland fairy tales. LOOKIT Trump's golden toilet!!!111!!! YAY!!!!11 Maybe he'll give us all golden showers!!!11!!!
I've asked it before and I'll ask it again.
ReplyDeleteWhen did America not be great anymore?
@ Gruaud,
ReplyDeleteRead Colbert's book America Again: Re-becoming the Greatness We Never Weren't, it will explain it all to you.
I read it, pretty funny stuff.

Other caveats may apply.
