Is Facebook killing the RW FWD:?

Facebook is no longer for young people posting selfies, song lyrics and their lunch plans. The older generations are on it in larger numbers, and they seem to be taking their RW FWD:s with them. I'm having a harder and harder time scraping up forwarded material for MRWD.

I am kicking around the idea of using some of the Facebook postings in addition to the FWD:s. Check out the subreddit Forwards From Grandma

Before making that move, however, I'd like the opinion of the commenters who are so important to this site. What do you think?

The trend does seem to be a migration from e-mail to social media like Facebook and Twitter. It's a snap to join. You have access to a broader audience and gratification is almost instantaneous.

I think using Facebook posts is a great idea.

Thanks, Dave! Yes, go for it. It's quite likely that more people, in general (except for me, ha!), are moving to Facebook in particular, to voice their commentaries. If you can pull stuff from there, I think it's a good idea.

It will be interesting to see if the commentary is less driven by think tanks (which tend to use the same wording) & more original stuff from citizens.

I like the idea, actually. I am definitely getting less junk stuff in my email, which is a happy circumstance.

I have no use for Facebook, so I'll never see anything that's posted there. I do, however, like my morning dose of crazy, regardless of source.

Bring. It. On.

LOL at CharlieE's comment above! ha!

Regardless of source, it's all bat shit crazy.

Agreed....bring it on.

My views are basically a composite of those comments above so far.

While I'm not on Facebook and do not plan to be, I see no problem in posting posts from there to fill in whatever dearth of actual RWF emails there are. My own RWD has sharply curtailed sending me RWFs as he finally realizes he's not going to be able to pass the angry conservative reactionary torch to me.

As to this site, what makes it so fun and so interesting is the content of the material we can all goof on, not as much how it came to be on the site.

All the best,
Mr C

You could also join www.teapartycommunity.com for material which is a tea party "facebook".

Bring it. Half my old high school friends post their stuff on Facebook so I'm sure some of theirs will make their way here. Townhall, Redstate, Fox, the usual suspects.
