Fw: Haven't heard it put better than this. :-)

From Down under!

HAVEN'T HEARD IT PUT BETTER!
The son of an illegal immigrant asks his dad, "Dad, what's democracy?"
"Well, son, that's when the Australians work and we get all the benefits from it!"
"But Dad, aren't the Australian people unhappy about that?"
"Sure they are son, but that's called 'racism.'"

Yes, the truth is out. People in other countries who have no jobs come to the United States in order not to work.

It's a lot of trouble to get here, of course, but hey, who said laziness was easy?

Why should I care about Australia and their purported immigration "problems"??

Did some rightwing think tank get really lazy and just generate something from down under??

I happen to have lived in Australia, and I can alert TeaTardz to the fact that the Aussies are particularly concerned about dirty Messicans swimming across the Pacific in order to "rip off" the Dole from "hard working" Australians.

Duh.

Ho hum. We've seen variations on this one before. Must be a slow "nooz" day. But why is it about Australia? Go figure.

In fact, a lot of Asians immigrate to Oz to find jobs and a better life. And Australia resettles the third largest number of refugees of any country (Canada is always number one) and more refugees, per capita, than any other nation in the world.

That's pretty humanitarian of them.

That there are a number of WASP conservatives who resent the hell out of this is not surprising. Still, it's a complex issue, more here:

Me, I work with Vietnamese, Filipino, Cambodian, Chinese, Japanese, Indian, and Burmese every day. They work hard and I respect the hell out of that.

All are welcome here.

Of course, I'm a loony liberal whose ancestors didn't come here on the Mayflower.
