Subject: We have to force Harry Reid to pass a budget

Dear Patriot,

Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid, said this about the Senate passing a budget, "we don't need to do it this year because the debt ceiling deal set federal spending levels". What he is really saying is that he is not about to cut spending because we can just keep borrowing from the Chinese and place the debt on the backs of our children and grandchildren.

In the real world there are serious consequences for failing to meet a deadline. Sunday, May 5th marked the three year anniversary since the Democrat-controlled Senate passed a budget. The Congressional Budget Act of 1974 requires, by law, that Congress pass a budget by April 15th of each year, yet Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has not allowed so much as a debate on a real budget bill since President Obama took office.

We need your help to force Harry Reid and the Democrat controlled Senate to pass a budget as required by law. So far more than 168,000 people have signed the petition which is sent to your Senators and Member of Congress. You do not need to donate to sign. Simply click here and add your name to the long list of Patriots who expect our government leaders to do what we elected them to do.

It is time for the American people to demand that Congress do its job, and do it on time! Senator Dean Heller (R-NV) has introduced S. 1981 to hold himself and his colleagues in the Senate accountable. Help us support Senator Heller and sign the petition demanding that the Senate pass a budget as required by law.

The Democrats tight grip over the Senate, has turned the place into a mockery over the rule of law. If you agree that the Senate should not be rewarded for a failure to comply with the law, please sign our No Budget, No Pay Petition --HERE--

Join with us and sign the petition telling Harry Reid and the Senate that they don't deserve their pay until they do the job the American people elected them to do.
You do not need to donate to sign the petition but your contributions will help us fight for "No Budget No Pay" and make your voice heard in the halls of Congress.

If you would like more information on the S. 1981 bill feel free to contact Senator Dean Heller directly at dean@deanheller.org.

I’m sure you feel that the Republicans control over the House is quite different.

What "tight grip?" The Republicans block virtually every bill that comes up for debate via filibuster.

Republicans complain all day long about Obama's "free spending" and "excessive regulation" while failing to note that virtually none of Obama's proposed policies have become law.

The Republicans won't allow any of Obama's legislation to even come up for a vote.

Yeah, there's a "tight grip" on the Senate, but it's the Republicans who are in charge.

Fun facts for teabaggers:

The John Birch Society was a reactionary group so extremist, it was denounced by Buckley, Ike, and Goldwater.

The Tea Party is heavily funded by the billionaire Koch brothers.

The Koch brother's dad is Fred Koch. Fred was a founding member of the John Birch Society and made Joe McCarthy look sane and reasonable.

Ergo, Theteaparty.net and, indeed, the Tea Party itself is the John Birch Society in sheep's clothing.

That may give a few of you pause. Just thought you should know.

I will gladly concede that Harry Reid, as well as the majority of the Democrats in the Senate, are weak and ineffective and that the public would be served better by Democrats who were more interested in achieving goals that serve the public interest rather than saving their jobs.

That does not, however, change the fact that Republicans control the Senate via filibuster. They are 100% responsible for the failure to fix the economy.

Wow, hold the fort. Didn't Obummer have a Democratically controlled Congress his first 2 years in office? Why didn't he attack jobs/economy FIRST...instead of focusing his time and efforts on Obamacare? Now, he and the Democrats are stuck behind a rock and a hard place! Winky ;-)

Yes, and congress passed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act that steered the country from the brink of a full-blown depression and saved 3.6 million jobs from the 10 million job hole Bush the Lesser dug us into.

Nearly all subsequent efforts to help the economy and create jobs (including the American Jobs Act) have been blocked by Republicans via either filibuster or votes.

Charlie E is dead right.

And you're still a fool.
