Affluent town newspaper letters to the editor: so self-evidently important that we don't even need to describe them when we forward them.

The sad thing is that this is supposedly from the editor of the paper to its readers. Its so full of lies, distortions and bias that it may as well have been written by Roger Ailes or Jerome Corsi. Truly sad if these are the words of an actual "journalist".

Funny; as Obama's policies continue to drift towards the Right, Republicans still call him a Communist.

He won't close Guantanamo Bay.
He's cracking down on medicinal marijuana
He's cracking down on federal whistleblowers
He's ordered a hit on an American citizen, Anwar Al-Awlaki
He's agreed to Republican demands for tax cuts.
He's agreed to Republican demands for cutting spending.

But he's a Communist. Uh, OK.

And they go on to complain about his alleged disdain for the Constitution while ignoring the fact that his Republican predecessor famously referred to the document as a "Goddamned piece of paper."

Many of these little once or twice weekly papers are nothing but an extension of the right wing forwards we receive in our e-mails. I would not censure any readers letters but in many cases letters sent in disproving some of the blatant obvious outright lies aren’t published. The editors who operate in this way are a disgrace to the newspaper world.
I’m sorry to say my old hometown paper is guilty.

As the Republican economic house of cards continues to crumble--what else can they do but keep screaming the most insane rhetoric to distract everyone. What would happen if Americans realized that raising taxes on the wealthiest Americans back to reasonable levels is the only thing that can save the economy? Its going to get crazier before it gets better.

I'm just trying to imagine what the Republican party is going to be like in 2020. Each election cycle, they veer harder and harder to the extreme. Is there a point of no return? Have they already crossed it?

Because nothing says "communist" like handing over hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars to failing private banks and corporations. Ironically, many on the right see this as proof of Obama's communist leanings. Because apparently the first step in turning American into a glorious utopia of collectively owned worker-peasant communes and abolishing private property and capital is to hand the worker-peasant dollars over to the bosses to do what they want with it.

Brought to you by the same logic that says that because Hitler was a vegetarian non-smoker, the Nazis were indistinguishable from the Democratic Party.
