Funny seeing a "kind-hearted and resourceful" Irishman used for this joke about hating blacks, since the Irish were one of the anti-immigration whipping boys in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

And the "no, YOU'RE the racist!" reversal at the bottom is a true masterpiece of lack of cognitive dissonance.

Isn't this joke from the 19th century?

Ah yes... and where are our rightwingers to come here and tsk tsk to us "lefties" and tell us how conservatives are certainly NOT racist... can't ya take a joke??? they all say... as they head off self-righteously & piously to church.

Well, yes, I CAN "take a joke," as long as it's not some nasty snivelilng racist/sexist/homophobic diatribe that conservatives love to use to make themselves feel "better than" those who happen to be "different."

This "joke" is not funny, and the closing commentary is pathetic.

Remember when the Irish were pretty low on the Racist Totem Pole?

Hey, Bill O' Reilly, you remember, don't you?

Nope, guess not.

This might help.

And, by the way, I've Irish blood in me veins.

If you laugh at this around me, *I* will kick your ass, and I'm white. Funny thing, ignorant jackasses, but looking around the room is no longer enough to guarantee your racist joke will be received well.
