Obama is the shepherd I did not want.
He leadeth me beside the still factories.
He restoreth my faith in the Republican party.
He guideth me in the path of unemployment for his party's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the bread line,
I shall fear no hunger, for his bailouts are with me.
He has anointed my income with taxes,
My expenses runneth over.
Surely, poverty and hard living will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will live in a mortgaged home forever.
I am glad I am American,
I am glad that I am free.
But I wish I was a dog ...
And Obama was a tree.

Op-ed: To Obama, Al-Qaeda is a Pesky Distraction from his Radical Agenda

To Obama, Al-Qaeda is a Pesky Distraction from his Radical Agenda
By: Katharine DeBrecht, www.radicalsruiningmycountry.
At the Congressional Black Caucus Democratic debate on January 21, 2008, then candidate Obama stated “We are seeing Al-Qaeda stronger now than any time since 2001. That is a significant threat that has to be dealt with. Because we have been distracted, we have ended up seeing a more dangerous situation.”
If Obama honestly believed that was the case, why has this Administration focused so little on terrorist threats?
Following the attempted bombing of Northwest flight 253, Senator Jim DeMint called Obama “distracted” saying his Administration was “not focused on building the security and intelligence apparatus of our country.”
Thomas Kean, former 9/11 Commission chair stated “We had an administration which was not focused, as it should be, on terrorism and that’s understandable.” Kean went on, “They were focused on health care and global warming and the economy. That’s very understandable.”
I do not believe Obama has been distracted by his overzealous, socialist agenda; he merely views Al-Qaeda as a pesky distraction from ramming it through.
As Americans were reeling from the carnage at the Fort Hood massacre, the first terror attack on U.S. soil since 9/11, Obama delivered a tepid response only after two minutes of a shout out and the need to pass healthcare reform.
After the Christmas Day failed attack on Northwest flight 253, the President, who normally cannot seem to get enough TV time, waited 3 days (much longer than the few minutes Bush read My Pet Goat on 9/11) before showing up to address the American people in between golf games. The tieless Vacationer-in-Chief went on to describe how the bomber “allegedly” attempted to kill more than 300 people, flippantly dubbing him an “isolated extremist.”
I would much rather have had Obama or members of his Administration address terrorists with something like this:
“Don’t think we’re not keeping score”
“We’ll call you out”
“My Administration is the only thing that stands between you and the pitchforks.”
Or to the American people:
“If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun”
“If you get hit, we’ll punch back twice as hard”
You know, the kind of cowboy rhetoric used by President Bush who managed to keep us safe for seven years.
Oh wait, Obama and his Administration officials did say these things – except not to Islamic extremists – Obama’s America is now a kinder, gentler nation towards beheaders, homicide bombers and the like. No, Obama and members of his Administration said these things in regards to Americans who opposed his radical policies. Makes you wonder, who is the bigger enemy in Obama’s mind?
What would you say if I gave you 11 reasons why the elections in 2010 will be the most important in the history of the United States ?
1. What if I had told you in October 2008, before the last presidential election, that before Barack Obama's first 100 days in office, the federal government would be in control of both the mortgage and the banking industries? That 19 of America 's largest banks would be forced to undergo stress tests by the federal government which would determine if they were insufficiently capitalized, so they must be supervised by the government?
Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !"
2. What if I had told you that within Barack Obama's first 100 days in office the federal government would be the largest shareholder in the US Big-Three automakers: GM, and Chrysler? That the government would kick out the CEO's of these companies and appoint hand-picked executives with zero experience in the auto industry and that executive compensation would be determined, not by a Board of Directors, but by the government?
Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !"
3. What if I had told you that Barack Obama would appoint 21 Czars, without congressional approval, accountable only to him, not to the voters, who would have control over a wide range of US policy decisions. That there would be a Stimulus Accountability Czar, an Urban Czar, a Compensation Czar, an Iran Czar, an Auto Industry Czar, a Cyber Security Czar, an Energy Czar, a Bank Bailout Czar, and more than a dozen other government bureaucrats with unchecked regulatory powers over US domestic and foreign policy.
Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !"
4. What if I had told you that the federal deficit would be $915 billion in the first six months of the Obama presidency - with a projected annual deficit of $1.75 trillion - triple the $454.8 billion in 2008, for which the previous administration was highly criticized by Obama and his fellow Democrats. That congress would pass Obama's $3.53 trillion federal budget for fiscal 2010... That the projected deficit over the next ten years would be greater than $10 trillion.
Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !"
5. What if I had told you that the Obama Justice Department would order FBI agents to read Miranda rights to high-value detainees captured on the battlefield and held at US military detention facilities in Afghanistan . That Obama would order the closing of the Guantanamo detention facility with no plan for the disposition of the 200-plus individuals held there. That several of the suspected terrorists at Guantanamo would be sent to live in freedom in Bermuda at the expense of the US government. That our returning US veterans would be labeled terrorists and put on a watch list.
Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !"
6. What if I had told you that the federal government would seek powers to seize key companies whose failures could jeopardize the financial system. That a new regulatory agency would be proposed by Obama to control loans, credit cards, mortgage-backed securities, and other financial products offered to the public.
Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !!"
7. What if I had told you that Obama would travel to the Middle East, bow before the Saudi king, and repeatedly apologize for America's past actions. That he would travel to Latin America where he would warmly greet Venezuela's strongman Hugo Chavez and sit passively in the audience while Nicaraguan Marxist thug Daniel Ortega charged America with terrorist aggression in Central America .
Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !"
8. Okay, now what if I were to tell you that Obama wants to dismantle conservative talk radio through the imposition of a new "Fairness Doctrine." That he wants to curtail the First Amendment rights of those who may disagree with his policies via internet blogs, cable news networks, or advocacy ads. That most major network television and most newspapers will only sing his praises like state-run media in communist countries?
Would you say,"C'mon, that will never happen in America !!!"
9. What if I were to tell you that the Obama Justice Department is doing everything it can to limit your Second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms. That the federal government wants to reinstate the so-called assault weapons ban which would prohibit the sale of any type of firearm that doesn't require the shooter to pull the trigger every time a round is fired. That Obama's Attorney General wants to eliminate the sale of virtually all handguns and ammunition, which most citizens choose for self-defense.
Would you say, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !"
10. What if I were to tell you that the Obama plan is to eliminate states rights guaranteed by the Tenth Amendment and give the federal government sweeping new powers over policies currently under the province of local and state governments and voted on by the people. That Obama plans to control the schools, energy production, the environment, health care, and the wealth of every US citizen.
Would you say, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !"
11. What if I were to tell you that the president, the courts, and the federal government have ignored the US Constitution and have seized powers which the founders of our country fought to restrict. That our last presidential election may have been our last truly free election for some time to come.
I know, I know what you will say. "That will never happen in America !"
If we don't do everything in our power to stop this madness in 2010...
May God have mercy on our worthless souls.
Pass this on to every freedom loving American you can.
Too bad, you're already playing...

It's Hillary in 2012, if Obama even makes it that far
By Bryan Fischer
There is virtually unanimous agreement that President Obama is toast. Mort
Zuckerman says the air is out of the balloon, and even Der Spiegel is
saying that, for German commentators, the hope is gone. In my judgment,
Obama is now a lame duck president with 75% of his first (and only) term
ObamaCare, his signature issue, is dead in the water and Democrats are
floating belly up right next to it. Think Corzine, Deeds, Coakley, Dodd,
Dorgan, Snyder, Nelson, Lincoln, etc. etc.
If the Democrats do not insist that Obama resign from office — politically
unlikely to be sure — they are liable to be dessicated, withered and
powerless by 2012. His coattails are just long enough to drag them all
under unless they detach themselves immediately if not sooner.
The natives are restless. If I've observed any one thing over time in
politics, it's that the only thing that matters to 95% of politicians is
getting re-elected. They will sell their soul to anyone who will ensure
re-election and abandon any principle and any friend who serves as a drag
on their electoral hopes.
The president is now dead weight, an albatross around the neck of every
Democrat member of the House and the Senate. They simply cannot afford to
be linked to him anymore. He is blindly pursuing policies that the great
majority of Americans flatly reject, and yet he soldiers on, oblivious,
perhaps through sheer hubris, to the fact that voters aren't buying the
swill he is trying to sell as champagne. Congressional Democrats have got
to get as far away from him as they can, and they will. Sheer
self-interest will dictate separation.
Obama is a disastrous 0-5 on the campaign trail, in his first year after
an inauguration attended by unmatched euphoria and expectation. Few in
political history, apart from appalling scandal, have fallen so far so
fast. He is the Tiger Woods of the political world. He got hosed in
Copenhagen, trying the bag the Olympics for Chicago. He got hosed again in
Copenhagen, trying to impose economy-destroying carbon caps on the entire
And he got hosed in New Jersey, Virginia and Massachusetts when he tried
to lend his now vanished charisma to troubled candidates. He's now
preparing to make it 0-6 by going to Nevada to prop up the dismal fortunes
of the thoroughly unappealing Harry Reid.
Congressional Democrats now can safely ignore their own president, and in
fact must do so to preserve any chance of survival. Dick Morris is surely
correct when he says that the president will never be able to pass a
significant piece of legislation ever again. The American people are
watching, they know he cannot be trusted, and they will beat the daylights
out of any politician who supports his disastrous agenda.
He has grossly misread the American public, perhaps again because in his
insular and self-adulating world he believes he is the smartest person in
the room and is sure that his brilliance will inevitably be recognized by
the great unwashed. Ain't gonna happen. The American people are a lot
smarter than he thinks, maybe even smarter than he is, and surely wiser
when it comes to politics. They will never trust him again about anything.
The president is catastrophically weak and naive when it comes to our war
against Islamofascism. He is indifferent, desultory, casual, and lacking
in seriousness regarding the threat. The American people know this. He
waited three days to say anything at all about the Tighty-Whitey Bomber of
Christmas Day, his Pentagon whitewashed completely the jihadist attack on
Ft. Hood by refusing to use either the word "Islam" or "Muslim" anywhere
in its 86-page report, and he nominated a manifestly unqualified man
(Erroll Southers) to head the TSA.
If there is another successful Islamic attack on the United States, and a
planeload of innocent Americans gets blown up, I believe that will be the
last straw for this vain and incompetent president. The American people
will hound him out of office. He won't be able to show his face in public
because the reaction will be so visceral and angry. He will become as
isolated as Dick Nixon became in his last days in office.
He'll crank up the Oval Office thermostat to 72 degrees and hunker down in
an effort to ride out the storm..
Hillary Clinton is of course watching, and I have been predicting for
months now that she will launch a primary challenge to Obama in 2012.. Rush
Limbaugh said much the same thing this past week. The campaign of 2012 is
her last realistic shot, and she is shrewd enough to see that he is
finished as a politician and she'll just be too old in 2016.
Surely the Democrats in the party will see the same thing, and know that
if they back Obama in 2012 they will be backing a loser. Believe me, there
will be an underground movement among Democrats to plead with Hillary (or
somebody) to save what shreds will remain of their party from The One in
the next presidential election.
President Obama has no chance at a second term. And eroding chances of
completing his first one.

ISRAEL'S DISPROPORTIONATE RESPONSE
Many countries and world leaders have accused Israel of responding disproportionately to aggression from Hizballah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza.
However, it is time that the world press and media speak of another disproportionate response from Israel.
The terrible disastrous earthquake in Haiti has generated responses from many nations. The US has sent supplies and personnel, Britain sent 64 firemen and 8 volunteers, France sent troops for Search and Rescue. Many large and wealthy nations of the world sent money. The Arab and Moslem world nothing.
Israel, a nation of 7.5 million people has sent a team of 220 people that include Medical personnel and will establish the largest field hospital in Haiti, treating up to 5000 people a day, an experienced Search and Rescue team and medical supplies. As in previous earthquake disasters, such as in Gujarat India in 2001 and in Turkey, in the bombings in Kenya, Israel has been one of the most generous givers of aid and assistance
Turkey seems to have forgotten this help as its extreme Moslem Government is cozying up to Iran.
Judge Goldstone, where are you now? Eating your heart out and hanging your head down in shame I hope.
The favorite occupation in the UN is Israel bashing. More resolutions have been passed condemning Israel than all the so called democratic nations such as Sudan, China, Russia and others for their crimes against their minorities.
I think it is time that the world should know about Israel's disproportionate response.

"I'm Tired" by Robert A. Hall"
I'll be 64 soon. Except for one semester in college when jobs were scarce,` and a six-month period when I was between jobs, but job-hunting every day, I've worked, hard, since I was 18. Despite some health challenges, I still put in 50-hour weeks, and haven't called in sick in seven or eight years. I make a good salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, there's no retirement in sight, and I'm tired. Very tired.
I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth around" to people` who don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy or stupid to earn it.
I'm tired of being told that I have to pay more taxes to "keep people in their homes." Sure, if they lost their jobs or got sick, I'm willing to help. But if they bought McMansions at three times the price of our paid-off, $250,000 condo, on one-third of my salary, then let the left-wing Congress-critters who passed Fannie and Freddie and the Community Reinvestment Act that created the bubble help them with their own money.
I'm tired of being told how bad America is by left-wing millionaires like Michael Moore, George Soros, and Hollywood entertainers who live in luxury because of the opportunities America offers. In thirty years, if they get their way, the United States will have the economy of Zimbabwe , the freedom of the press of China , the crime and violence of Mexico , the tolerance for Christian people of Iran , and the freedom of speech of Venezuela . Won't multiculturalism be beautiful?
I'm tired of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family "honor"; of Muslims rioting over some slight offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren't "believers"; of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for "adultery"; of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur'an and Shari'a law tells them to.
I believe a man should be judged by the content of his character, not by the color of his skin." I'm tired of being told that "race doesn't matter" in the post-racial world of Obama, when it's all that matters in affirmative action jobs, lower college admission and graduation standards for minorities (harming them the most), government contract set-asides, tolerance for the ghetto culture of violence and fatherless children that hurts minorities more than anyone, and in the appointment of US Senators from Illinois.
I think it's very cool that we have a black president and that a black child is doing her homework at the desk where Lincoln wrote the emancipation proclamation. I just wish the black president was Condi Rice, or someone who believes more in freedom and the individual and less arrogantly of an all-knowing government.
I'm tired of a news media that thinks Bush's fundraising and inaugural expenses were obscene, but that think Obama's, at triple the cost, were wonderful; that thinks Bush exercising daily was a waste of presidential time, but Obama exercising is a great example for the public to control weight and stress; that picked over every line of Bush's military records, but never demanded that Kerry release his; that slammed Palin, with two years as governor, for being too inexperienced for VP, but touted Obama with three years as senator as potentially the best president ever. Wonder why people are dropping their subscriptions or switching to Fox News? Get a clue. I didn't vote for Bush in 2000, but the media and Kerry drove me to his camp in 2004.
I'm tired of being told that out of "tolerance for other cultures" we must let Saudi Arabia use our oil money to fund mosques and madrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in America , while no American group is allowed to fund a church, synagogue, or religious school in Saudi Arabia to teach love and tolerance.
I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global` warming, which no one is allowed to debate. My wife and I live in a two-bedroom apartment and carpool together five miles to our jobs. We also own a three-bedroom condo where our daughter and granddaughter live. Our carbon footprint is about 5% of Al Gore's, and if you're greener than Gore, you're green enough.
I'm tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses while they tried to fight it off? I don't think Gay people choose to be Gay, but I damn sure think druggies chose to take drugs. And I'm tired of harassment from cool people treating me like a freak when I tell them I never tried marijuana.
I'm tired of illegal aliens being called "undocumented workers," especially the ones who aren't working, but are living on welfare or crime. What's next? Calling drug dealers, "Undocumented Pharmacists"? And, no, I'm not against Hispanics. Most of them are Catholic, and it's been a few hundred years since Catholics wanted to kill me for my religion. I'm willing to fast track for citizenship any Hispanic person, who can speak English, doesn't have a criminal record and who is self-supporting without family on welfare, or who serves honorably for three years in our military.... Those are the citizens we need.
I'm tired of latte liberals and journalists, who would never wear the` uniform of the Republic themselves, or let their entitlement-handicapped kids near a recruiting station, trashing our military. They and their kids can sit at home, never having to make split-second decisions under life and death circumstances, and bad mouth better people than themselves. Do bad things happen in war? You bet. Do our troops sometimes misbehave? Sure. Does this compare with the atrocities that were the policy of our enemies for the last fifty years and still are? Not even close. So here's the deal. I'll let myself be subjected to all the humiliation and abuse that was heaped on terrorists at Abu Ghraib or Gitmo, and the critics can let themselves be subject to captivity by the Muslims who tortured and beheaded Daniel Pearl in Pakistan, or the Muslims who tortured and murdered Marine Lt. Col. William Higgins in Lebanon, or the Muslims who ran the blood-spattered Al Qaeda torture rooms our troops found in Iraq, or the Muslims who cut off the heads of schoolgirls in Indonesia, because the girls were Christian. Then we'll compare notes. British and American soldiers are the only troops in history that civilians came to for help and handouts, instead of hiding from in fear.
I'm tired of people telling me that their party has a corner on virtue and the other party has a corner on corruption. Read the papers; bums are bipartisan. And I'm tired of people telling me we need bipartisanship. I live in Illinois , where the " Illinois Combine" of Democrats has worked to loot the public for years. Not to mention the tax cheats in Obama's cabinet as well.
I'm tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers, and politicians of both parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting caught. I'm tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.
Speaking of poor, I'm tired of hearing people with air-conditioned homes, color TVs and two cars called poor. The majority of Americans didn't have that in 1970, but we didn't know we were "poor." The poverty pimps have to keep changing the definition of poor to keep the dollars flowing.
I'm real tired of people who don't take responsibility for their lives and actions. I'm tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination, or big-whatever for their problems.
Yes, I'm damn tired. But I'm also glad to be 63. Because, mostly, I'm not going to have to see the world these people are making. I'm just sorry for my grandchildren.
Robert A. Hall is a Marine Vietnam veteran who served five terms in the Massachusetts State Senate
I saw on the Internet and the television that Haiti is without a government.
To help them out, I would like to donate one Obama, one Pelosi, one Reid, one Frank, one Coakley and two Clintons!
They may keep them permanently!
I'd give them a constitution to, but I can't find mine right now!

cannot argue over these points:
JUDGE KITHIL wrote:
"I have reviewed selected sections of the bill and find it unbelievable
that our Congress, led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, could come up with a bill
loaded with so many wrong-headed elements.
We do need to reform the health insurance system in America in order to
make coverage affordable and available to everyone. But, how many of us

the bankrupt Medicare program or the underfunded Social Security program?

mess of those two programs.
"I am opposed to HB 3200 for a number of reasons. To start with, it is
estimated that a federal bureaucracy of more than 150,000 new employees
will be required to administer HB3200. That is an unacceptable expansion
of a government that is already too intrusive in our lives. If we are
going to hire 150,000 new employees, let's put them to work protecting
our borders, fighting the massive drug problem and putting more law

NOW, here comes the good stuff:
JUDGE KITHIL continued: "Other problems I have with this bill include:

HAD ENOUGH???? Judge Kithil then goes on:
"Finally, it is specifically stated this bill will not apply to members
of Congress. Members of Congress are already exempt from the Social
Security system and have a well-funded private plan that covers their
retirement needs. If they were on our Social Security plan, I believe
they would find a very quick 'fix' to make the plan financially sound for

One of my sons serves in the military. He is still stateside, here in California .. He called me yesterday to let me know how warm and welcoming people were to him and his troops everywhere he goes, telling me how people shake their hands and thank them for being willing to serve and fight for not only our own freedoms, but so that others may have them also.
But he also told me about an incident in the grocery store he stopped at yesterday on his way home from the base. He said that ahead of several people in front of him stood a woman dressed in a burkha.
He said when she got to the cashier she loudly remarked about the U.S. flag lapel pin the cashier wore on her smock. The cashier reached up and touched the pin, and said proudly, 'Yes, I always wear it and probably always will..'
The woman in the burkha then asked the cashier when she was going to stop bombing her countrymen, explaining that she was Iraqi.
A gentleman standing behind my son stepped forward. Putting his arm around my son's shoulders and nodding towards my son, he said in a calm and gentle voice to the Iraqi woman: 'Lady, hundreds of thousands of men and women like this young man have fought and died so that YOU could stand here, in MY country and accuse a check-out cashier of bombing YOUR countrymen. It is my belief that had you been this outspoken in YOUR own country, we wouldn't need to be there today. But, hey, if you have now learned how to speak out so loudly and clearly, I'll gladly buy you a ticket and pay your way back to Iraq so you can straighten out the mess in YOUR country that you are obviously here in MY country to avoid. Since taking over from blog-creator Mike, I've been the sole content-provider for this blog. I think I have done a good job -- two posts a day during the week, one a day on weekends, almost without fail -- but I am ready for a co-host.
I need someone who can load content to the site and format it accordingly, and (pardon the cliche) take the site to the next level. I'd like to see MRWD have a Facebook presence, for example. I'd really like someone who is more Web-savvy than I am to help out.
There's no $$$ involved. When my wife lost her job, I sorta poked around looking at making some $$$ from the site (it gets lots of visitors) but I really think it needs to be a free resource uncluttered by advertising.
I am not dumping the entire operation on anyone. I will continue to be involved. Two or more volunteers would be even better.
Interested parties can respond to firstname.lastname@example.org.

How many times over the last 20 years has more guns less crime been a suppressed subject of honest investigation? Joe Farah chronicles data from the newest accumulation being carefully avoided by the mainstream media. shirl
BETWEEN THE LINES
Proof: More guns = less crime
Exclusive: Joseph Farah shares good-news data from D.C. subsequent to Heller case
Posted: January 16, 2010
There it was. Good news on New Year's Day on the front page of the Washington Post.
"Homicide totals in 2009 plummet in District, Prince George's," the headline read.
In a story that likely got lost amid the holiday revelry, the paper reported that the nation's capital in 2009 experienced its lowest number of homicides in 45 years. In case you can't do the math real quick, that previous year would be 1964.
And for those too young to remember, 1964 was pretty much the end of an era. It was before the riots, before the Vietnam War was seriously escalated to become a national dividing point, before the drug explosion.
So what happened in Washington, D.C., in 2009 that might account for such a dramatic decline in homicide deaths?
Hmmmmm. Let me see. Nothing comes to mind.
Oh, wait a minute! Wasn't 2009 the first full year following the overturning of Washington's gun ban by the Supreme Court in the Heller case?
Could that have something to do with it?
Will blue-helmeted U.N. personnel be knocking on your door demanding your firearms? Wayne LaPierre lays out the agenda to limit your rights in "The Global War on Your Guns"
Apparently the Washington Post newsroom didn't think so. It was not even mentioned in the New Year's Day story – not even as an afterthought. That should tell you something about the political culture and worldview in elite newsrooms of America's major metropolitan newspapers.
But think about it!
Once again, we have more real-life evidence of the theory so well articulated by John R. Lott in his breakthrough book, "More Guns, Less Crime."
Remember what was predicted by the naysayers following the Heller case?
They foresaw blood in the streets. They believed a sort of citywide Armageddon would ensue. They prophesied gloom and doom. In fact, even in his Supreme Court dissent, Justice Stephen Breyer argued the gun ban was necessary for public-safety reasons because "guns were 'responsible for 69 deaths in this country each day.'"
What Breyer didn't understand was that guns are not responsible for any deaths. People are. Bad guys are. Murderers are. And when those guys have a virtual monopoly on force, because law-abiding citizens can't bear arms, that's when blood flows in the streets.
For 20 years before the Heller decision, Washington was known alternately as the murder capital of the country and the "District of Criminals."
(Column continues below)
But something happened to make 2009 different. There was a significant drop in violent crime and property crime. The sharpest drop was in homicides – 25 percent. There was a 16 percent drop in sexual assaults and a 10 percent decrease in car thefts.
Can anyone point to another factor?
Was it Barack Obama's anointing presence? I don't think so.
It was Heller.
By the way, you probably also heard the news that 2009 was a banner year for gun sales nationwide. Americans, in fear Obama and the Democrat-dominated Congress would move quickly to limit their ability to exercise their Second Amendment rights, went out and got guns while they could.
These folks braved the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression to go out and buy firearms, which are not cheap. They also bought ammunition, which is getting more expensive all the time.
And guess what resulted?
Were more people killed by guns as the gun-control freaks always predict?
Just the opposite.
According to the FBI's uniform crime report, law-enforcement agencies across the country experienced a decrease in violent crime for the first six months of 2009 from the same period the year earlier. Violent crime, which includes homicide, rape, robbery and aggravated assault, decreased by 4.4 percent. The complete annual report is not yet released.
But, mark my words, when it is out it will show violent crime down throughout America – because more people have guns.

McChrystal about Afghanistan and the troop buildup that McChrystal proposed.
After listening to multiple dumb questions and even dumber statements, General McChrystal was concerned that the President did not understand the situation.
President Obama sensed this and told him, "I bet when I die, you'll piss on my grave."
General McChrystal answered, "No Sir, I've always said that
when I get out of the Army, I'll never stand in another line!"

Ah, turning the tables can be so sweet!!!
AN ACTUAL CRAIG'S LIST PERSONALS AD
To the Guy Who Tried to Mug Me in Downtown Savannah night before last.
Date: 2009-05-27, 1:43 a.m. E.S.T.
I was the guy wearing the blackBurberry jacket that you demanded that I hand over, shortly after you pulled the knife on me and my girlfriend, threatening our lives. You also asked for my girlfriend's purse and earrings. I can only hope that you somehow come across this rather important message.
First, I'd like to apologize for your embarrassment; I didn't expect you to actually crap in your pants when I drew my pistol after you took my jacket. The evening was not that cold, and I was wearing the jacket for a reason. My girlfriend had just bought me that Kimber Model 1911 .45 ACP pistol for my birthday, and we had picked up a shoulder holster for it that very evening. Obviously you agree that it is a very intimidating weapon when pointed at your head ... isn't it?!
I know it probably wasn't fun walking back to wherever you'd come from with that brown sludge in your pants. I'm sure it was even worse walking bare-footed since I made you leave your shoes, cell phone, and wallet with me. [That prevented you from calling or running to your buddies to come help mug us again].
After I called your mother or "Momma" as you had her listed in your cell, I explained the entire episode of what you'd done. Then I went and filled up my gas tank as well as those of four other people in the gas station, -- on your credit card. The guy with the big motor home took 150 gallons and was extremely grateful!
I gave your shoes to a homeless guy outside Vinnie Van Go Go's, along with all the cash in your wallet. [That made his day!]
I then threw your wallet into the big pink "pimp mobile" that was parked at the curb ... after I broke the windshield and side window and keyed the entire driver's side of the car.
Later, I called a bunch of phone sex numbers from your cell phone. Ma Bell just now shut down the line, although I only used the phone for a little over a day now, so what 's going on with that? Earlier, I managed to get in twothreatening phone calls to the DA's office and one to the FBI, while mentioning President Obama as my possible target.
The FBI guy seemed really intense and we had a nice long chat (I guess while he traced your number etc.).
In a way, perhaps I should apologize for not killing you ... but I feel this type of retribution is a far more appropriate punishment for your threatened crime. I wish you well as you try to sort through some of these rather immediate pressing issues, and can only hope that you have the opportunity to reflect upon, and perhaps reconsider, the career path you've chosen to pursue in life. Remember, next time you might not be so lucky.Have a good day!
P.S. Remember this motto ... An armed society makes for a more civil society!
I probably don't have to ask you to forward this one.
